KTAR has suddenly stopped reporting this on their sports updates

I wonder why :sarcasm:

No doubt because the Cards actually already hired him, but are waiting til next week for the announcement. KTAR, being a reputable and accomodating media source, are sitting on the news until the Cards make it official.

Add Pitt to the list of Miami and AZ of being a "joke of a hiring process"

That's a completely different situation. Saban left Miami quickly and without a backup plan and Pittsburgh couldn't get an answer from Cowher until after the season. The Cards only had about 3 months to figure out who they want.

Cowher resigning was one of the worst kept secrets in sports. Did people think he bought a multimillion dollar home in N.C. for the hell of it?

Most people probably thought Brett Favre was retiring last year also. Until you hear it from Cowher you can't make a move. That's why people were all over Favre because he wouldn't announce what he was doing prior to the free agency/draft so the Pack was kind of handcuffed in their decision making process.

Not to mention that Art Shell has all of the sudden gained interest. Maybe Wayne Fontes with Art Shell as CO-head coaches?? Why not, they have tried everything else! :D

They could definitely go that route.. Maybe hire those two as co-head coaches and bring Bugel back as an Associate Head Coach..

Why don't the Cards just call Pittsburgh and ask who their second choice is and hire that guy? They've interviewed Grimm and the Wiz. Now the Steelers are also looking at Gailey and he suddenly appears on the radar. Let's hope Pittsburgh is done so the Cards can finally have stop adding names to their search.

The Gailey report looks to be a mistake. Hence why it suddenly went away

As far as the Steelers candidates goes it may be a very wierd situation where both teams like both of the candidates and are just waiting to see who the other team hires first so the decision for their HC opening is basically made for them

Cris Collinsworth is reported to be the favorite for Cardinals Offensive Quality Control Coach.

Glanville was reportedly offered the position of "get back" coach.

The Just In:

The Cardinals have convinced Wayne Fontes to come out of retirement and become their new head coach.

...and...

The Raiders just re-hired Art Shell.

Again.

And again. And again.

The Cards called Dennis Green and asked him to come back and finish out his contract. Too expensive to pay two coaches.

I had the pleasure of enduring Gailey for 2 years in Dallas. Hopefully there's nothing to this rumor.

As did my sister. I told her this rumor and her exact quote to me was "Shut the *&^% up. You don't want that guy." Um, thanks, Captain Obvious, lol!

Bud Grant has also been contacted but turned the job down.

No verification to the rumor that Jerry Burns will be brought in as Green's successor.
