What?
Warner has re-signed for three years and the Cards are now turning their attention to Edge.

I didn't see this elsewhere. Warner is a Card for three years.

Check out the Mr. Fancy Pants with the quick knowledge of the rules.
Sure tampering may be done in the league, but for being such a legal beaver, you get a...

You are correct. But there is a loop hole. The players on your team can talk about what coaches, GM, or scouts say about FA's and prospects. Same with the media. It is just that the fornt office cant say anything first hand, or be quoted. And if they are quoted it is the team of which the player is still under contract until March 3rd responsibility to file a charge with the NFLPA. The NFLPA wont do it by themselves, if the team in question doesnt want to put charges they dont care. For example Tice was already quoted this offseason about having already talked to soon to be Minny FA's. Minny heard about it and didnt file charges.

Also something I just learned, trades can already be in place as we speak. You just cant make it official until March 3rd.

IMHO we shouldn't spend big money on an RB. FIx our Oline issues first. And lets see what the RBs we have can do with some decent blocking

Warner, Cards agree on three-year deal
QB could make $22 million

Kent Somers
The Arizona Republic
Feb. 14, 2006

The Cardinals and quarterback Kurt Warner agreed to terms on a three-year contract Tuesday, keeping Warner in a Cardinals uniform and off the free-agent market.

Warner played last year in Arizona under a one-year, $4 million contract and was due to become an unrestricted free agent March 3.

Exact terms of the deal were not available. At minimum, Warner would make about $15 million over the three years, said his agent Mark Bartelstein. With incentives, he could make around $22 million.

Warner’s signing is the first key move of the off-season for the Cardinals, who had few other options at quarterback. Josh McCown, the team’s backup, will be an unrestricted free agent in March.

John Navarre is currently the backup quarterback. A seventh-round pick in 2004, he’s played in two games in two years.

Warner, who turns 35 in June, played in 10 games last season, completing 64.5 percent of his passes for 2,713 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He was intercepted nine times and missed four games because of groin and knee injuries. McCown started the other two games.

“It was definitely a lot of work,” Bartelstein said of the contract. “There was a whole lot of time spent. This was something both sides wanted and were determined to get it done. He (Warner) views it as a great opportunity. He thinks there are a couple pieces away from being a dynamic team.”

I've agreed with your perspective on this in the not too distant past, but, to sign a guy like Edge could go a really long way to making a statement for this team to the rest of the league.

Lacava said James has shown interest in coming to the Cards and the feeling is mutual but at what price could be the hang up.

(Rough quote my memory aint what it used to be)

I am not the savviest capologist but I believe the Cards have plenty of space to go after James and still upgrade the OL. This AM Jurecki said he thought Denny would grab one OL via FA and one via draft and the O coaches wanted two OL grabbed via FA instead of just one.

Who knows...a new OL coach who actually has some experience (gasp) may be able to improve the current crop of OL on the team enough to show marked improvement. Adding another vet would be even better. James would be a nice addition and I like him better than Alexander...he is more well rounded a RB.
