Lebron is 4-6 for 8 points in the first quarter.

The guy who is looking really outstanding is Utah's rookie Pavolic.

I agree completely with Joe Mama that what will make James is his ability to pass and board as a PG. Once he learns how to post up, he will look like Penny in his prime.

Wow 12 points, 3 assists, 2 boards and we are not even through the first quarter of the first game.

Rookie record for scoring in a debut game is 30 by Iverson.

James could easily break that tonight.

lol I was telling my friend I hope Lebron has his best game of the year tonight, then falls off the rest of the year.

Looks like I might be right

Lebron James is far from overrated. Anyways, how does one say a player is overrated when he hasn't even played a week of NBA ball?

He's done more in one quarter then some players do in their careers.

Duh. That's EXACTLY why he's overrated.

Obviously old enough to put you in your place I guess since that's the only response you could come up with.

The reason he is overrated is because everyone is making him out to be the new superstar and he hadn't put on a uniform. You don't call that overrated?

I've got news for you Chaplin. He IS a superstar. Any 18 year-old "kid" who dons an NBA uniform, attracts sellouts wherever he goes (since Junior High), and score 12 points/6 assists/3 rebounds in the 1st half of his NBA debut is a superstar.

He may not be the complete player now as he will be in 5 years, but calling him overrated is misguided.

I got the impression he was being called overrated because he hasn't actually done anything.

Which was the perfect response to you saying people shouldnt think he is overrated based on one game

Just my opinion

Not that I know of. It is possible for James though. He is at 12, 3, and 6 at the half. So 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

It's only his first game, but does anyone here still think James is overrated?

With 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter he has 25 points (12-19), 5 rebounds, 9 assists, 4 steals, and 0 turnovers.

Glad I decided to start Lebron in our league

Maybe he can make up for that awful showing by Amare.

One game. According to one game, Joe Johnson shouldn't even be an NBA player.

Granted, I never once said he won't achieve greatness. But to make him Michael Jordan before he puts on a pair of Nikes is way too overboard.

Has Joe Johnson ever had a game like that?:D

This kid's got it - although it's gonna take a while before he consistently puts up nights like tonight.

Heh! The Cavs lost on purpose for an entire season just for the chance to win the James lottery. I can't imagine they'd trade him for anyone in the league right now -- not anyone.

c'mon, not even if we packaged knight's expiring contract, the runnin' blockin' trybanski, their #1, and some cash?

I watched a good portion of that game and it looked like the Kings were playing defense like the Mavs. Hopefully the Suns will play some tougher 'D' tonight.

I noticed that as well. I'm interested in seeing the King play against some real defense.

Zarko looked good again--even though the stat line was anemic. Is it my imagination or did he do a pretty good job defending out on the perimeter?

It would be interesting to start Zarko at the 2 for a few games. Shawn could defend the opponents best 2 or 3 leaving Zarko to guard the other one. Just a wild idea.
