Because we would have had a QB ready to go when Palmer was done. I don't think BA wanted a rebuild with a rookie QB

However...we would have been able to turn to a young Derek Carr...instead of Drew " 40% completion " Stanton and Ryan Frickin Lindley!! I like our chances in the years Palmer was hurt if we have Derek Carr.
