Chargers’ time out didn’t change anything. It was under 0:40, play clock was almost out. Raiders should’ve still let it run out after the next play.

Wow. Great game. :)

Glad it didn't end in a tie. I find tied games distasteful. :p Deliberately playing for the tie would be even worse. :p

Raiders pass defense in last few minutes makes the Cards look all pro

Raiders were going for a win or tie. Chargers timeout didn't make any difference. They could not stop the first down and made the decision easier for Raiders.

The smart play was still to let the clock run out after the first down. The game ends and you are in. With the FG attempt, a block can cause you to lose.

Agree. I don’t get it. Taking a knee and letting the clock run out and get into the playoffs is the only risk-free play. Weird.

At first I thought chargers coach might have been wanting to burn timeouts to show Raiders they weren’t a threat to score if they got the ball back.. but that didn’t make sense in given the situation. Like another poster said, it was late in the play clock, maybe he thought raiders weren’t just playing for tie and wanted a different defense.
