You know, I think it would be pretty cool if they replaced him with Emilio Estevez.
That would be some cold blooded shizzle. :D Sheen let loose on them, I think it would be the perfect revenge. They said John Stamos on TV last night, but Stamos later said that the only offer he had was to be Martin Sheen's new son. I guess Winning isn't all the 7grams of Sheen that it's cracked up to be.

It's not winning...it's just a very complicated suicide.

I don't know the man personally, but I believe he's as crazy as a fox at this point.

In the beginning of this latest meltdown, I agree with what you're saying. His hospitalization and stint in rehab were part of a tangential deathwish.

But I believe that Sheen had an epiphany of sorts during rehab, and realized that he had to act to salvage his career, and that this "madness" of his is all an act.

You know CBS wanted to can his ass for all of this; the last straw of a long line of personal foul-ups on Sheen's part. Sheen knew his termination was coming too while in rehab I'm sure.

Becoming off-the-charts-loco was, in my opinion, a business decision to get a new show that was 100% Carlos Estevez, all of the time. Whether, or not, it was his idea, the idea of his publicist, his agent, or perhaps even his father, I can't say with any certainty.

But just google "Charlie Sheen reality show" and look at the buzz.

Like this for instance: Charlie Sheen Could Have Reality Show Deal With Mark Cuban

PS: The real genius will be if he can stay straight from here on out, and just play the madman...unlike Lindsay Lohan.

I agree that it is, in part, an act--for the exact reasons you state--I also don't believe he is going to stay sober/straight. Not gonna happen.

I hope, for his sake, that he does.

But if he ends up believing the pub on himself, and tries to live up to the persona he's doomed. If what he just went through doesn't scare him straight, nothing will...not even Willy Ames as Bibleman.

I have a hard time believing it's an act, because he just walked away from potentially hundreds of millions of dollars to bolster a bad boy image that really didn't need any help.

Not only that, he's a pretty good actor but no one is THAT good. He's in denial on a scale rarely seen. I hope he wakes up and realizes how close he is to rock bottom and gets help while he's still breathing.

I don't believe he walked away from anything, he got sacked.

From his various previous peccadilloes the writing had to be on the wall following this episode (no pun intended). If he thought CBS would continue to tolerate this type of behavior, then he really is crazy.

In my opinion, he's making lemonade...or applesauce...or whatever.

I'm not sure what he's making but it's not edible (or potable). If he actually realized he'd crossed the line he could have rectified it up until a few rants ago. Initially, they just put the show on hiatus and I doubt he would have had much problem earning his way back on to the show for next season. His followup rants ended that possibility, especially when he began to spout off about owning CBS after the lawsuit gets settled. That's not a guy making lemonade IMO, that's a person out of control.

That's the thing. This whole thing started after Les Moonves and the show producers went to his house to beg him to clean himself up so the show could go on -- the point being BILLIONS of dollars were on the line. The show has reportedly grossed CBS $5 billion during its run already, with much more in the form of residuals from syndication. Sheen was going to have no small part of that chunk of change.

Sheen's response was to fly off to Jamaica for his own form of stupidity, calling every radio talk show in LA -- EVERY talk show -- to bash CBS and especially the show producer. He got fired BECAUSE he started this whole Crazy Charlie act, not after. The Crazy Charlie act just accelerated after it became clear he was no longer welcome back. He's trying to save face, in a way only an addict or very sick man could do it, IMO.

I was in LA driving all the freeways listening to AM talk radio when this all started to go down. Some of the things he said on radio ... they could only be cogent to an insane person. They could only come from the mind of an insane person. No rational person putting on an act could be so credibly unhinged. Combine that with the gaunt "face of death" and the frantic personality, and no one's going to convince me he's anything other than a bi-polar coke head.
