One of my least favorite things about Chase Field, why put bleacher seats in? Makes no sense:

EDIT: I was going to mention, IMO the red looks really nice w/ the green seats and other green through out the stadium. It matches the brick/green metal theme already going on in the stadium, its very nice.

What's with the diamond club? Is that now a bar in RCF?

I'm not entirely sure, I couldn't really get back there because there were a bunch of workers doing construction and what not. They already have the Fridays, and the Lexus club, so I'm not sure what it could be.

Any chance you have the high resolution of this pic? I'd love to make a wallpaper out of it.

I do, how would you like me to get it to you? Its pretty dark in spots because I was lazy and just had my camera on auto, so the difference between the dark and light areas is fairly pronounced.

The "World Champions 2001" is still in purple and teal ... I just find that a little odd

So are the Division champs signs. I like it, since they won those crowns in purple. The 2009 World Champs sign will be in black and red, no worries :D

Nice pics. Did you have any problems getting in? I guess not, I would have thought someone might have said something unless you were able to sneak in and not be seen lol.

The stadium is looking great with the new red and black throughout and I can't wait for the season to start. I hope to make it back out there soon, hopefully this summer if not then hopefully next to see some home games.

You have to keep it the same color. Can't change history. Hopefully they will be able to put a red one right next to it in the near future.:)

You can PM or email me the pic either attached or hosted on someplace like imageshack, whatever is easiest for you.

HooverDam, could you please either PM me with the same pic for a wallpaper or however you are getting it to coyoteshockeyfan? Those pics are very nice... Just curious, what type of camera do you have? How many megapixels?

hey way to go Hooverdam... I just saw your awesome pictures.... Especially #12 of Jorge Julio.... these get posted on the internet and management immediately sends him across the country. If I ever see him, I'm sending him your way and putting all the blame on you. What a great guy.....

:sarcasm:
In all seriousness... the pics look great and I for one am stoked to have the new colors all throughout the stadium. Looks MUCH better!

Did you have any problems getting in? .

Nope. They usually have a door open in that area between the "Sliders" bar and the stadium. Then I walked in the rotunda or whatever you want to call it, and one of the doors was cracked open. There was a tour going on, grounds-crew working, other people working on putting up signs and as you see the guy working in the bullpen. No one said anything to me or even looked at me like I wasn't supposed to be there.

Just curious, what type of camera do you have? How many megapixels?

Its not mine, I borrowed my Moms- but its a Nikon D70. Its 6 megapixels, it came out in '04, so Ill bet you can get one for a good price now, I recommend it, its very nice.

EDIT: Whoops, almost forgot. Here is a high res picture for those who wanted it:http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/2365/dsc0235ji8.jpg

Wow, they finished it! When I went to Phoenix in November and then again in December just before Christmas they still had the old colors there.

I actually like the new versus that old one.

Edit: When I was there on Nov. 13th that tower in your first picture was not even halfway done...now it's just about finished..wow!

Its all topped out, and it looks really cool. They are starting to put the facade up on some parts of it, I think its going to look really nice.

Great pics. I wonder if they will bring back that all-time strikeouts leaderboard thing, they had when RJ was here before.

You advertise "hot pics" which I tend to relate to scantily clad women, and NOTHING.

Good DAY SIR!!!

it's not that nice...in fact Glendale Arena and UoP Stadium are much nicer. it is getting better with the diamond club, the removal of consession stands at the main atrium entry, new colors, etc. people don't pay to go see stadiums that are a decade old. they'll pay to see wrigley, fenway and yankee stadium because of the history.

^In what ways are UofP and Jobbing.com better than Chase? Its hard to compare, especially Chase to Jobbing.com because they are on such a different scale. Jobbing.com looks like a parking garage (especially w/ UofP looming over it).

I certainly don't think Chase is the best place in baseball, and I have plenty of gripes about it architecturally, but it is a very nice stadium. It does look like its trying a little to hard to be a warehouse, since its in the warehouse district, I understand why they did it, but it looks like one of the historic warehouses ate a mushroom from Mario Bros and grew 100 times in size.

I also dislike that you never really feel outside (you feel even less outside at UofP), I wish instead of huge ads the panels were made of something similar to the UofP roof, a white mess that would let in light and create a feeling of openness.

Another big problem with it is that along Jefferson street, when combined with the Garage Mahal it creates a huge dead zone, there is no reason for pedestrians to go down Jefferson. I wish the Garage Mahal was something else (hotels, office building, whatever) and that Chase Field had some maybe shops or something that faced north, making Jefferson a nice little street to walk on. The designers did do a good job making the west side of the stadium more open and interesting to pedestrians though.

Also, and this is a problem at EVERY stadium in the Valley the concessions are pretty bland. Phoenix has a lot of unique foods, and some great Mexican food, why can't we get that into our ballparks?

But like I said, overall I think its a very nice place to see a game.
