I still remember that Saints game where a physical defense completely shut him down before he got hurt.

He is bigger/stronger this year though.

I think Kliff has to still monitor his carries. Give Eno or whoever 8 to 10 carries.

Jonathan Ward might be the actual insurance which nobody is really talking about... he does have more size than any other of our backs and as Seattle has proven, you can find backs from all rounds which produce

I just watched all of the post game interviews on AZCards and Chase had the best interview. Smart well spoken and straight to the point.

Not doubting Chase at all. But what happens if he goes down?

that’s what makes Chase so valuable.
You have nothing to base this off of literally. Other then gut feeling?

I personally think the better comparison is Stump Mitchell.

I like Chase & he definitely needs more touches without a doubt. My question is how long can his body take the constant pounding? Stump was really good as a role player & had 1 good season carrying the load.

I really would like to see Eno get some touches in the backup role in our next game I really like him.
He's like Terry Metcalf when we had him and Jim Otis. except he doesn't return punts.

I think we need someone to get the short yardage I don't know who that's going to be.

I think if we get Maxx back we may start to be able to run better even with smaller RB's because Maxx is such a good blocker.

Chase is awesome, BUT... he reminds me too much of Ellington. We used Duke in spurts his rookie year, then BA moves him to starting RB the following year and the guy got stuffed (and eventually) injured as an every down back. I don't want the same fate for Chase. He is best utilized in space and in spurts... and his body is not built as an 3-down back.

The big question moving forward is... who takes Drake's spot?

He reminds me very little of Ellington other than being on the short side.

Ellington was just a pure burner. Edmonds has outstanding vision and he sees holes open before they are there. Ellington never had Chase's run vision.

Chase reminds me a bit of Emmitt Smith.

Emit Smith would be my comparison too.... and they are similar in size with Smith being a few pounds thicker

Stump is a good comparison too. I'm not saying give Chase 20 carries a game and honestly that's not our system, Drake had 20 carries twice this year and only twice last year, Chase will get more carries than he was, and someone else will pick up the slack. What we DON'T want is for Kyler to be the one who has to pick up the slack running, he's running enough now he has that happy medium IMO.

Not to nitpick, but I am concerned that Chase always carries the ball in his left arm. I understand that his his strong arm, but I've always heard that when running down the right sideline, you were supposed to move the ball to right arm, AWAY from the tacklers, so that they can't get the ball out. Am I wrong?
