No OT/OG taken in the first three rounds? Not buying that one. I appreciate the effort that person put in, but fully expect the first three rounds to go Oline, QB , RB not necessarily in that order.

I love G/T Quessenberry. He has him going to us in the 4th round.

1. Geno Smith, QB, WVU. I like the talent---the temptation would be to play him early and in his case I'm not so sure that's a good thing. But, if we took him as the QBOF under Carson Palmer for a year or two, that would be ideal.

2. Arthur Brown, OLB, Kansas St. Absolutely love this pick. This kid is Navarro Bowman---esque and would be a dynamic pairing with D-Wash. Might be the best tackler in the entire draft.

3. Robert Alford, CB, SE Louisiana. Ran a 4.38 at the combine and has the speed and quickness you want in a nickel back. Great pick.

4. David Quessenberry, G/T, San Jose St. I think he is a perfect fit in our zone blocking scheme. He's 6-5, 294 and has good feet and plays with good leverage. Thought he played extremely well at RG in the Senior Bowl. Was considered the best pass protecting LT in the WAC for the last two years.

5. A.J. Klein, ILB, Iowa St. Again one of the better tacklers in the draft. We need depth at ILB. He would also be a STs ace, which the Cardinals have been addressing in the 5th round for a few years now.

6. Earl Wolff, SS, NC State. This another great pick. Wolff is tough and a big hitter. Always around the ball. Lacks height, otherwise he would be taken earlier. Could be another SS steal from Keim's alma mater, a la AW.

7. Sam Brenner, G, Utah. Sleeper pick here. Very good zone blocking guard whose stock fell last year when he suffered a scary neck injury. He's fine and rebounded with a very good senior year which garnered him 2nd Team All Pac-12. Allowed only 1 sack in 743 plays. Played some LT too, like Quessenberry.

I just can't get excited about any mock that has us taking Geno Smith at 7. Even though I don't think/want the Cards to take him at 7, it doesn't mean they won't.

On Arthur Brown, I know he's quick, is he a legit rusher from the edge. I know he can't bull rush but does he have some moves besides being quick?

There is a lot of talent in the 2nd, when your passing on guys like FSU's Carradine , FIU's Cyprian, SMU's Hunt and ND's Te'o. You'd better be sure the guy you get can start and soon.

Love the Alford kid. He ran a kickoff back in the Shrine game I think it was. He's got blazing speed.

There is a lot of talent right through the 5th Rd. Many real good RB's who'll contribute, some a lot.

Some who were slotted too late, imo:

Sylvester Williams - DT - 73
Jamie Collins - OLB - 81
John Bostic - ILB - 123
Jonathan Franklin - RB - 127
Dion Sims - TE - 134
Matt Scott - QB - 173
Michael Buchanan - DE -188.

Those were the one's who went later than they prob. should, imo. I'm sure there are more.

I'd be pretty much fine with this draft, assuming we did a little bit more in free agency than sign Mendenhall (which I don't really see happening anyways).

Again, love the Geno Smith pick.

Probable thought process...

I don't know that I like one of the picks. As posted earlier, appreciate the effort, but no.

Fisher or Warmack in the first

Sam Montgomery or Tyler Bray in the second

Brandon Jenkins or Travis Kelce in the third

Better now?
