Heard a snippet on the radio that BA said 'he's disappointed that the veteran leadership has not fixed the problems." That it's not something he can fix, but the leaders should. Huh?

Bickley had a pretty good article today on AZCentral.

If I am looking at the play of players, the ones who are seemingly underachieving or playing lackadaisically are the most likely. Marcus Cooper. Kevin Minter. Robert Nkemdiche. Corey Peters. Chandler Jones. Deone Bucannon. Calais isn't a vocal leader, so I doubt he is an issue. Swearinger, Peterson, Mathieu, and Jefferson seem to share the same temperament.

Honestly I am pretty positive the problem is on offense. And I think it's mainly Floyd, Nelson and Brown. I understand Brown has had some issues, but his attitude is very obviously piss poor /woe is me at times on the field.

Wth. Maybe The Badger can cut Butler and fire Amos.

Chandler Jones may not be the whole problem however I am willing to bet he's part of the problem. There were similar talk about Jones and why the Patriots let him go. Free lancing on defense and not necessarily being a team player. You didn't hear any Patriot player say things like they were sad to see him go and the team will miss him. Mitch can probably talk more to this since he lives in Patriot territory. I am willing to bet Jones is not pursued by the Cardinals on a new contract.

I too believe the FO and coaches made some mistakes getting rid of veteran leadership. The incident with Nkemdiche the other week not having the proper clothing is just a small example of where this team is. A solid veteran leader would have chewed his ass for not having it. Instead some one just gave him a shirt and tie. These are the small things you see on the surface that tell you there are deeper rooted problems with this team.

I don't think guys like PP are providing the leadership either. This team is fractured and nothing is going to fix that. I also think some of the players question personnel changes because they make no sense. Arians can go on and on about lack of leadership however he has contributed to this with some of the bizarre moves they have made. Right now he's part of the problem too.

Both Gronkowski and Brady publicly said they were sad to see Chandler Jones go.

I don't think any players blasted the front office or coaches they knew why he was gone, but the players liked Jones from what I heard.

The primary reason they moved him was they couldn't afford to keep him but as he said there were rumors he knew he wasn't on their good side ever since his incident off the field.

1st time poster & had to post after seen all these different narratives about Chandler Jones. I am a long time Patriots fan & have followed him since the draft. Jones was always a solid presence in locker room & nothing was ever reported to suggest otherwise.

A number of players including McCourty, Brady, Gronk spoke out about how he would be missed when he was traded. Also some Pats fans have also brought up the point that the current locker room issues with Pats D could be tied to losing him as he was well liked & a leader in his own right

The freelancing talk is also foolish as BB would have benched his ass & shipped him off years ago if that was the case. Even after his weird weed related incident, BB did not bench him which speaks volumes.

Also your GM has spoken out several times as how the most impressive thing with Jones is how well he has been received in locker room.

I think the Cardinals fan base is in shock & most are throwing out different theories trying to find scapegoat. Also Arians throwing players under bus with subtle hints & without saying names does not help.

One play that stands out to me is when CC try's to go for block on punt & gets penalty during Atlanta game. That's is what I think Arians is talking about with guys trying to be heroes on D. I don't blame them the D though as Offense & ST always failing so what does Arians expect them to do??

I just think there are a lot of personal agendas inside the locker room that have crept out on to the field. In many cases I think those agendas are getting put ahead of the attitude of WINNING first at all costs, and letting the rest fall into place after that.

We have a ton of key guys that are in or nearing contract years that see the money the team laid out for extensions of Fitz, Palmer, HB, Ja. Brown, etc. and either feel like they need to go out and prove their worth and press or try to play hero ball, or they figure they are not a priority to the Cards and may not be around next year anyway so let me just ride this thing out, get mine and move on.

A locker room full of personal agendas is not an uncommon occurrence in the NFL, however THIS TEAM does not appear to be mentally tough enough or have the proper leadership in place to corral and channel that energy into a shared understanding that everyone playing for one common goal first and foremost will lead to those individual payoffs - numbers, recognition, and of course $$$.

OK, this is gold. Players are ultimately in charge of the locker room, either veteran or young. Arians comments on the defense is players not doing their jobs, and the veteran players not holding those players accountable. If this is an honest take, we are looking at Arians calling out Markus Golden, Deone Bucannon, and Marcus Cooper for sure. All three of these guys were out of position enough that it was noticeable and led to big plays. When it comes down to veteran leadership, Arians is referencing Peterson, Campbell, and Rucker. Those three have been with the team for a long time, and have the requisite production to call teammates out, especially starters.

Kevin Minter is so bad I can't tell if he is out of position because he is bad or because he is trying to do too much.

How the team handles Markus Golden's contract and/or Chandler Jones's contract will tell us everything we need to know about these guys.

It is hard to tell in TV coverage about the safeties.

Offensively, I think it is what it is. The WR corp has played about as bad as it can play. My guess is that the lack of physical play is not only about the offensive line. Palmer has regressed, but I don't believe he is as bad as he has looked. In a offense that relies upon option routes and chemistry, the poor WR play is going to impact Palmer a ton. He has missed his share of throws, but the wrong routes and dropped balls have magnified his struggles.

This is the NFL...CATCH THE BALL!! It's too bad we can't throw it to Fitz' 30x's. I bet he'd catch 29! ...And MORE D.J. in the flat!

Weird that all the chemistry speculation is focused on defense, yet most of our problems (related to winning) are more focused on offense....

The free lancing issue came right from BB and the DC.

Accountability is what has been mentioned time and time again this week by players, BA and Keim... I do believe that there is a good deal of angst within the locker room. I believe players like Floyd, JJ Nelson, Shipley, Minter and our glorious Punter Butler are all players who are at the root of the angst. But, I also believe that there is angst between players and coaches. I believe players are scratching their heads as to why BA continues to try to hold players "accountable", yet a guy like Amos Jones gets off with nothing but pats on the back...
Anyway - unless a player (like a Fitz, Badger, PP21 or Palmer) calls a Players-only meeting and literally goes off... I mean truly goes nuclear, I don't see anything changing and in fact, I can see this Sunday being the final missile that sinks this ship. Like, I can see the Skins coming to town and putting a full-blown ass-whooping on this team. The kind that ends the season right there, where all of these weak-minded/selfish and unaccountable players just quit and simply play out the string the final 4 weeks.
But if one of our so-called leaders can grab this team by their necks and pull them out of their pathetic little selfish corner of the locker room, we might have a chance to be competitive on Sunday.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet big $$ that Sunday turns into a blood-bath... like a 45-7 type ass-kicking... In part because I don't believe our o-line will do anything about keeping Palmer upright. And in part because the lack of accountability and the layers of angst running through this team is all too deep and too far gone to be changed.
And as always - I hope I'm dead wrong... :(

All the conjecture in this thread is just plain stupid. There are obviously chemistry problems or else HB and others wouldn't reference it. But to guess who is the root of those issues is frankly a bit stupid in my opinion. We just have broad strokes like "young guys" to play with. Everything else is just y'all playing fantasy brain fart games.

It is a good thread to take in regardless.

I'm fine if he holds the players accountable, as long as he holds himself and his coaching staff accountable too. The public silence on the latter group speaks volumes, given he is not shy about going public on the former.
