I had to leave after 4 innings and just got back and checked the score. Just for the fun of it, I first guessed what I thought it might be.

I said, "Cubs 5-2." Then I checked and saw the result. Cubs 5-1. Our only run on a Pollock solo HR. Not one rally.

Our D-backs are too predictable.

Yup, as the saying goes, you don't have to alibi success.

I might have posted this once before, but it seems to be universal using the word "little" when coaches explain their problems.

We're on a little losing streak. We have a little trouble scoring runners on base. Whom do they think they're kidding? Leave out the word "little", huh. We all know better.

Is that, I wonder, Front Office talk for, "It's only a little problem. Nothing we have to be concerned with."?
