They are a class act. Probably the best i've seen. We were dressed in Cards gear and they were great. They would say welcome to the city, good luck, and so on. I didn't run into 1 jerk while i was there. After the game they congratualatory and,again, not 1 jerk in the bunch. That's pretty rare these days. The funny thing was,at halftime, i used the bathroom and it was the quietest bathroom i ever been to at a stadium in my life. Not one fan was saying anything to anybody. I guess the Rolle return and FG had them in a state of shock. It was pretty surreal not hearing 1 word while in line or in the room at all.

I'm sort of upset at myself for not going to the game. My wife and I were within an inch of pulling the trigger to go, but I figured with airfare, tix, taxi, hotels..prolly $2g's total. Just couldn't justify it at the time. Oh well, would have loved it

Most bears fans IMHO have been around for a while and know what it is like to both win and lose. Plus I am sure that you were not getting in anyones face about the Cards beatdown. But I will have to agree with you. I can't remember a bears fan from out of town that wasn't a good sport. Even during the monday night game when there were some bears fans from in town and some from Chicago sitting behind us there was a huge difference in the way they acted. Both in the first half and the second half. People from chitown are alright.

THe Cards still have friends in the windy city. Some are still closet Cards fans. They might be still there if a new stadium was built? Who knows. BUt, I have always found on bussines trips that the people living there are real nice. And they are great sports fans. They were all remembering what happened when thier beloved Bears beat the stuff out of us and that misrable Monday night. Not it's thier nightmare!

The Cubs have the lonest drought in baseball, the White Sox had the second-longest drought until the last five years, and the Blackhawks have the longest drought in hockey. If the Cards had stayed in Chicago they would have been right at home.

But always great to hear about classy fans. Hopefully visitors talk about the Cards that way.

My bet is that you represented us with class as well. It is one thing when other team's fans act like morons, I like it when Cardinal fans display dignity in victory and defeat. This is a lesson I tried to remember walking out of UoP last week when I encountered some of the few Panther fans that were there. Their team won, they were not jerks about it.

not a knock on Chicago fans, but let's say the Bears are leading 31-7 at half, would the fans have acted differently?

I remember coming out of FedEx stadium last year, with my Fitz jersey on, where we lost a close one to the Skins and I was harrassed non-stop (I think the taunting came in 2-3 second intervals). When I was heading to the car with my buddy, some fans yelled out obscenities and the only thing I could come up with was, "we'll see who makes the playoffs".

Half my life revolves around sports and yet this is one aspect I've never understood. It wouldn't occur to me in a million years to try and single someone out in an opposing team's jersey after my team won. I'd be more inclined to say great game and thanks for coming out. Of course, I did that at a bar after ASU won a bowl game a few years ago and they instantly started trash talking to me. So I guess you never know.

The people are bar none the best in the United States IMO.

I plan on moving there next summer and the people are a big reason why. I was this close to going to the game and wish I would have after seeing the out come.

Chicago and St. Louis sports fans are some of the best in the world. Baseball, football, hockey, it doesn't make a difference. You could also travel between those two cities for a sporting event and be welcome at either destination.

St.Louis baseball fans are the greatest IMO. Of course, they're Cardinal fans.

Packers fans are very nice, as are Chiefs fans and St Louis fans are very nice too.

Broncos fans... ugh.

Raiders fans.. lol, another story.

Some places you just don't go, but Chicago people are on the whole nice about sports, they're like anti New York fans.

I was at the game as well but seemed to have a different experience. It's not that the Bears fans were bad but I seemed to constantly be getting yelled at or having popcorn thrown at me. I guess that's what happens when you're the only Cardinal fan in the entire section (the buddies I went with are Bears fans). It wasn't that big of a deal though and I appreciate them protecting their "turf".

At the end of the day, every team has their fair share of idiot fans. It still amazes me that some grown adults act that way

My experience is a mixed bag, as to be expected. I've only been the visiting team. Some folks were fine, others were aggressive.

I live in St. Louis and have always been a Big Red football fan. Years ago when the Rams won the NFC CHampionship game in ST. Louis against Tampa Bay my brother in law and I went downtown to see the celebration beacause this city has never seen it before. I remember a couple of Tampa fans in their jerseys walking around. I did not see one Rams fan give them grief. They congratulated them on a good season. I was very proud of this city. I been to three games at UOP and I have never seen Cards fans give opposing teams fans a lot of trouble. Always a class act.

dcr & I had a great time; no trouble from anyone. All of the fans were really nice--some mild trash talking leading up to the game, but nothing even remotely aggressive.

Gotta disagree

I was at Soldier Field years ago with my Plummer jersey on, that was the game in which Pittman fumbled while in the red zone thereby sealing the loss (as DuckJake likes to say, snatching defeat away from the jaws of victory).

Anyway I was treated like crap, I wasn't loud, or drawing attention to myself either. As we were losing I had beer thrown on me, food, cussed at, etc. They were AWFUL.

In my opinion it has been a big spoonful of humble pie, and there's no convincing me they are great fans having lived the experience and seeing different with my own eyes.
