I would've loved Nagy for us. Those Andy Reid disciples are doing quite well around the league. Say what you want about the ole walrus, but he has great offensive schemes. Look what Doug Pederson did with Wentz. RBs thrive in that type of offense, especially those who are great receivers. Would have loved to see Nagy developing a young QB and featuring David Johnson. DeFilippo is also from that coaching tree and would be my choice if we go offensive-minded HC. Shurmur and Reid als have history together and quite similar styles.

Different scenarios. On one he was trying to get a higher draft pick for a guy. On his coach, he gets nothing out of it so there's no reason to sell.

I hadn't heard his name on any of their lists. Not really sure how the Bears could interview and hire a guy who was coaching the Wild Card Round this early unless something was already in place. And in that case, it was probably known and the Cards didn't want to waste their time vetting him.

I am more excited by some of the other names out there and now the Cards only have 3 competitors for their services.

Source tells me the Indianapolis Colts were all in on hiring Matt Nagy. Uncertainty on health of Andrew Luck vs Mitchell Trubisky + Nagy’s belief the Bears roster is much better made decision for him. “Pace landed him by convincing him sunny days are ahead for the Bears.”

I don't think Fangio is locked up yet, I think his contract is up and he is waiting to see the coaching changes before he returns to the Bears...some people have him tied to Shurmur's new team as the new DC
