Salary wise, Shaq for Miller + Deng works straight up.

Wait a second, ...

C: Shaq
PF: Noah
SF: Salmons
SG: Gordon
PG: Rose

Hinrich and Thomas lead the reserves.

Dont you realise this team is good enough to battle anyone?

Except, you are forgetting that Shaq sucks.

What's the problem for the Bulls? It's an excellent deal for them!

Brad Miller? 11.8ppg and 7.4rpg? He is as slow as Shaq!

Deng? He barely played 50 games this season! Salmons did better in his place!

Noah? He is listed as PF and he plays best at PF. He is exactly the right type of PF you want to put alongside Shaq! Athletic, defensive, rebounding very well!

I don't really think Shaq would help them that much. I do know that I am opposed to the Suns trading Shaq for overpaid players. They need to let his contract expire and do something good with the money.

That makes a ton more sense than getting Deng. Suns adding Deng and Miller adds nothing to the Suns.

Please keep Shaq away from the Bulls.

From all the sources I've read, the Bulls want to keep Gordon and leave Deng expendable because of Salmons.

Yes, they do want to keep him, but he still thinks he is worth than what the Bulls want to pay him. If they moved Deng, then it it may free up money in the long run.

Agreed, although I think we should trade Shaq for another expiring and some draft picks and cheap prospects. Then we not only have money to spend on free agency but hopefully something to surround these free agents with.

I'm betting on a Ben Wallace/Pavlovic/JJ Hickson/draft pick(s) for Shaq deal.

I'd rather let Shaq's contract expire and be way under the cap to rebuild the following season. Especially if Steve Nash becomes too rich for our blood, or he and his agent decide Nash should play elsewhere. We could then comfortably extend Amare if we so chose.

The Bulls aren't giving up Deng and Miller for Shaq. Miller can still play 30 minutes and gives you 12/7/3 pretty much every night. He also is handy as a passer and shooter from 14 feet out, and is an 80 percent FT shooter, fantastic for a big men.

But it's about the only way to make it work under cap rules for the Bulls.

Or Kirk could be included, but that is just dumb. He played so well off the bench and really pushed Rose to be a better defender.

I didn't think you can officially discuss trades until the season is over. Trade deadline passed.

It appears my recollection was correct. Trades can be made by teams after their season is over.

See article by Mark Stein of ESPN dated June 6th, 2009.

The Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers have completed the first trade of what is being widely forecast as an active month for NBA transactions by agreeing to swap sharpshooting guard Jason Kapono for rebounding specialist Reggie Evans.

So it looks like bombs away except for the Lakers and Magic until their season is over.

I think Shaq has it in his contract to decline trades, he won't play for a non-contender calibered team. He came here because this team was a contender, they just have to get that going again...easier said than done.

There are a number of playoff teams that could contend for a championship but didn't make it to the finals like the Lakers and Magic. Cleveland and the Celtics are good examples. Actually all playoff teams could be called contenders. I do think Shaq has a kicker in his contract for a few million if he is traded.

Thing is, are we any closer than Chicago to winning a title? I think its debatable.....where's E? ;)

The suns initially drafted Deng and traded his rights to Chicago if i'm not mistaken? The suns would immediately trade shaq for miller and deng, no problemo. Then we could all call Steve Kerr a moron when that trade didn't work out as planned lol.

I remember hearing last year that Kobe was the only player in the league with a no-trade clause in his contract.

I thought when the whole Kobe I want to be traded thing went on a couple of Summers ago, they reported that Kobe is the only player in the NBA with a void a trade clause in his contract?

As if Vinny Del Negro is as dumb as Sarver (who forced this trade on Kerr).

Why would the Bulls want Shaquille Oneal?

Regardless of what anyone says, he's detrimental to any team at this point in his career.

He's not doing anything if he's not scoring, and he not capable of carrying a scoring load for a team. Destroys any defensive schem that might be set up etc.

The Bulls already proved that they don't need Deng to succeed in the playoffs. However, they desperately need a consistent low post scorer, interior presence, and championship experience. Not a lot of centers out there fit that criteria. Shaq is still an imposing force in the paint on both sides of the ball (although his PnR D does suck). Plus, the Bulls have the perfect big man compliment to Shaq in Noah.

Deng just gives me flashbacks of Googs...

Gugliotta was a better-than-fair player before his injury, borderline all-star. Deng does have similar offensive skills, so I can see the comparison.

That said, Deng is more athletic, stronger, and plays defense.
