Next time be clearer about who's credibility your attacking.

Or you can learn the difference between someone being called a "writer" and a "poster". Especially considering the title of your thread says "Chicago Tribune Says".

I didn't know that HOU excluded themselves from the PM sweepstakes. They would be the one perfect fit for PM (whereas everyone else has more holes to fill). Oh well. Good for us because they would be an insurmountable competition.

TEN is next. Good WRs, great RB, solid D, home state. A lot of good there. Hopefully Hasselbeck is too much of a bite to take for them.

After HOU and TEN, I would think AZ is very competitive with MIA (maybe even moreso now that Brandon Marshall is gone and Reggie Wayne is not an option)....

Their owner today was saying he wants Mario Williams back and isn't interested in signing Peyton. Also said he's happy with Schaub:

Houston is the perfect fit. thank goodness they are not interested, because that's a no brainer.

TEN would mean he'd face Indy twice a year, not sure he would want that. It's also not his home state; Louisiana is. Kenny Britt is good, but he's not remotely Larry Fitz. CJ is a monster running back. They have an outdoor stadium. Their Oline isn't great, but their D is good. I just don't see them as any huge threat, especially when you throw in that uberdick owner they have. I could easily be wrong there.

Wow. I wanted the Cards to try to get Schaub from ATL a year before he became a FA (I posted that on here at some point). Even still, I would easily pick Manning over Schaub - particularly with their current team makeup. Manning to Johnson with Jones running deep and Foster keeping them honest? Jeez. That's a dream team ready made for Manning, but whatever....

I am sure their thinking is that they were a QB injury away from the super bowl last season with who they have......that is my thoughts as well....they do not need Manning to be a superbowl contender...just need Manning out of their division

I think that TEN has a better WR corps, but they don't have anyone that matches Fitz straight up. On the other hand, our corps of RBs couldn't combine to hold Johnson's jock. Their OL can't be worse than ours and it's actually probably better. Their D compared to our D (at least the second half of last year) is actually advantage AZ. Owners? Well, I don't know enough about that, but Bidwill seems to be a good dude. I think Manning would have to balance out AZ vs. TEN. I don't know how he would come down on that balance yet, but maybe we'll see soon....

Dealbreaker: owner wants Manning. Titans coaches like current QB situation. Owner doesn't care and tells his people to go get Manning anyway. Dissent will eliminate Tenn.

People don't always make the "logical" choice. Hell, when picking a graduate program I didn't choose the one that objectively made the most sense. We have no idea what Manning really wants. I hate to use a soccer comparison, but international media thought for certain that David Beckham was going to make the "logical" choice and sign with some French team early this year/last year (better team, he is more popular in Europe, apparently France is a better place for his wife's career, etc.), but instead he re-signed with LA. The point is, if he signed with Seattle, it wouldn't surprise me much because we can't apply our values onto him.

I am almost 100% sure that Manning will not play for ANYONE in the same division as the Colts. The man cried out his love for the people of Indianapolis at his presser. He's far too sincere a man to then go to a team that will play the Colts twice a year. Tennessee has NO shot! It comes down to the Cardinals & Broncos. I still like our chances. If he does choose Denver, I can go back to hating the Broncos. I actually found myself rooting for them because of Tebow.

Agree (sort of). Owner is a dictator. It becomes a question of whether Peyton is a collaborative guy who favors participatory management or if he favors a mgt structure where one guy (the owner) calls the shots.

I'm guessing Peyton is a collaborative guy...but who knows?

Their parents sure were creative when they named them too, so hats off to them.

I thought the best source I heard was Darkside's. He had great sources but he drank all 6 of them.

Report: Manning signing could send Tebow to Jaguars

If Peyton Manning ends up in Denver, Tebowmania reportedly could find a new home base in Jacksonville.

With an ESPN report indicating the Denver Broncos are Manning's preferred choice, another report has surfaced that current Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow would then be traded.

Citing a "source close to the team," profootballtalk.com reported the Broncos could trade Tebow and indicated the Jacksonville Jaguars were working to land him.

Tebow became a national sensation last year as his late-game theatrics, often built on his running ability, led the Broncos to the AFC West title and a playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tebow was 7-4 as a starter and rushed for 660 yards and six touchdowns. But he completed just 46.5 percent of his passes, and threw for 1,729 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions.

The University of Florida alum could be a drawing card, though, for Jacksonville, which watched rookie Blaine Gabbert and Luke McCown struggle at quarterback last year.

The Jaguars released David Garrard before the season-opener and Gabbert started 14 games for the 5-11 Jaguars, throwing for 2,214 yards, 12 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He posted just a 65.4 passer rating.

McCown went 1-1 in his two starts, but had a 39.0 rating after throwing for 296 yards and four interceptions without a touchdown in four games.

Tebow did not comment on his situation with the Broncos during his appearance at a fund raiser for the Wounded Warrior project in Tampa, Fla., on Saturday.

I think Gerrard would be an excellent backup for some contending team. He could carry a team for a few games. I have not figured Tebow out. He had a way of turning into a real QB late in games and taking his team on winning drives. No doubt he can run the ball. He and Mike Vick are the best running QB's in the NFL. Someone tell me why we keep Hall on the team? Why not draft some QB in the late round and have a long shot of getting a QB like NE did in the 7th round. The Jaguars might be better going after the backup from Green-Bay who looked all world his last game. I would prefer him to Kolb. Actually I would prefer a lot of people to Kolb and wish we had our 2nd round pick back and our DB back an all that money we are going to give him. The only way I will ever get over this is if Kolb turns into the QB of now and the future. We actually did in fact buy the proverbial pig in a polk. Now I can point to an actual case of this old proverb.

Oh no! Tebow is going to get jacked. If it wasn't for Tebow Denver would have the 2nd or 3rd pick in this year's draft.

I wonder what Tebow's net worth is now. With all his high profile adds on TV and in magazines he has to be set for life after just one season. Is not big time sports amazing?
He does appear to be a good guy and I doubt he will spend his money on booze and skanks. Got to admit this guy is tough and no Kolb or Leinart when it comes to heart.

Elway is praying so hard to get Manning. The reason is however that it is the only way to get that monkey (Tebow) off his back and still keep the Broncos' fan base happy. Elway hates having Tebow be so popular. By getting Manning, fans will be happy and not mind Tebow going somewhere else. Elway will be the happiest person in the country being able to shake Tebow's hand and say good bye. You won't see Elway smile this year if Manning goes elsewhere and Tebow is still with the Broncos.
