The 2024-25 North Jersey High School Sports Awards, Presented by HSS and powered by The Record, is happy to announce that Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman C.J. Hanson will be the guest speaker for its live show on June 27 at Passaic County Technical Institute.
A native of Wyckoff, New Jersey, Hanson attended DePaul Catholic where he helped lead the Spartans to two New Jersey Non-Public Group III state championships in 2015 and 2017, respectively.
He then went to the College of the Holy Cross, where he started 38 games at right guard over four seasons, helping his team earn top ten national rankings in rushing offense, total offense, and scoring offense. Hanson was twice named First-Team All-Patriot League (2022 and 2023) and garnered First-Team FCS All-American honors in 2023. As a fifth-year senior, he was nominated Team Captain and was a recipient of the Connor Award, which is voted on by the varsity squad and presented annually to the Holy Cross senior the players are most proud of as a teammate.

To cap off his college success, Hanson secured an invite to the NFL Combine, becoming just the third player from Holy Cross to receive a coveted invitation.
The Kansas City Chiefs were impressed and selected him in the 7th round (248th overall) of the 2024 NFL draft, becoming the first player from Holy Cross to be chosen since 1989. Hanson used his first professional season to learn, develop, and gain experience at both right and left guard culminating in a trip to the Super Bowl.
“I’m so excited to be participating in the North Jersey high school sports award event!” Hanson said. “My years as a student-athlete at DePaul Catholic helped make me the person I am today. I can’t wait to meet the next generation of student athletes coming out of New Jersey.”
