OXFORD — Ole Miss basketball has pulled in the first piece of its 2025-26 transfer portal class.
Former LSU Tigers 6-foot-8 forward Corey Chest has committed to Ole Miss, per On3 Sports. Chest, from New Orleans, will be a redshirt sophomore.
The Rebels graduated seven seniors who played in the Sweet 16 matchup against Michigan State. Chest is a nice first transfer addition for Ole Miss coach Chris Beard as he reconstructs his roster. Chest started 19 games for LSU this season and developed into a strong rebounder with scoring upside.
Chest had at least 10 rebounds in nine games. He peaked with a season-high 18 rebounds at Alabama. Ole Miss struggled at rebounding this season.
Because Malik Dia, who led Ole Miss this season with 5.7 rebounds per game, is returning for his senior season, he could combine with Chest to improve the rebounding numbers. The Rebels were No. 15 out of 16 SEC teams in total rebounding this season.
