I wonder if the D-Backs could be showcasing Capuano? I sure would like to know what scouts attend the game tonight.

I wrote Ken Rosenthal concerning our interest in Juan Gone, and to my amazement he wrote me back. He said....

"They are interested if the Rangers are willing to eat the contract."

Well we already knew that, but, my question is, if the Rangers were going to eat the contract in the Montreal deal, then why wouldn't they eat the contract for the D-Backs? Do they not like what we are offering?

I wish I knew. Montreal was offering a couple mid level prospects, one pitcher and one position player. It seems like the local guys say were not interested in Juan Gone, but the national people like Gammons and Rosenthal say we are but, only if the Rangers eat the contract.

I don't think it is a slam dunk that because they would eat the contract for Montreal, that they would necessarily eat any or all of the contract for the Dbacks. Montreal is in little position to take on a contract like that whereas one could argue the Dbacks are in a better position to take on some or all of the contract. Maybe the Rangers fought tooth and nail with Montreal about the contract and simply "gave in" to get the deal done...a deal BTW that never had a prayer of going through.

Forget about Juan,

On baseball tonight last night, they said Juan would enact his no-trade clause because he doesn't want to go to the National League...guess he loves the DH....but he has a great arm.

Chris was fabulous. For that kid to come up from Tucson and pitch like he pitched was remarkable.

With kids like Mike Gosling, Edgar Gonzalez, Chris Capuano, Andrew Good, Brandon Webb, John Patterson, Oscar Villarreal, Mike Koplove, Jose Valverde, Brian Bruney, Bret Prinz, Greg Aquino and others, our pitching for the future is in very good hands indeed. I follow the minor leagues very closely and, there is not another team in baseball that has such a young array of pitching talent and depth like the Diamondbacks have. Alot of credit should go to head scout Mike Rizzo, head of latin operations Junior Naboa, and director of minor league operations Tommy Jones. Very well done guys, give yourself a couple pats on the back. I also give praise to Joe Jr for signing Carlos Baerga. He has been a major addition to this team. The Hillenbrand for Kim deal isn't looking to bad either. Good job Joe.

i'm not pointing fingers, but weren't people getting ready to crucify joe jr a few weeks ago? ahahaah, i'm just glad to have you guys back aboard! man, i'm glad things are back to normal. and man i'm glad he resisted the pressure to keep kim, and trash schill.

sweep the giants! :D anybody know the match-ups this weekend? i know the first one is miggy vs schmidt, which looks like an, um, tilted matchup in their favor. next is schill. i dunno who the rest are.

btw, remember pac bell being a pitcher's park? we have good d, and contact bats. i'd say the dbacks were made for pac bell. i like our chances. go dbacks!
