The disappointing thing though is that I would prefer that the G thing was taken care of so the Cards wouldn't have to use a precious pick filling a hole that, with a little more aggressiveness, could have been filled yesterday.

With the exception of Wistrom maybe, there is no incentive for any of the other players being brought in to sign right away since most are tier 2 guys and I believe they are more likely to play the field to get the most money possible.

I must bring something up that supports your argument even better, that it's best to sign a veteran OL over drafting one because it takes time for them to develop......

I think out of those the Cardinals have invited in thus far, only Wistrom would be the most in demand.....

I guess Im actually realizing some of the negatives as well....

And you brought up an excellent point earlier about making a signing just for the sake of signing. It could be a horrible move.

I feel it is safe for us to say, that pretty much every player already signed would have improved this team...the issue was likely more a monetary one and a scheduling one than anything else.

The reason alot of people are discouraged is because other teams are making moves, whether they end up being right or wrong, and there is tangible proof those teams are or are trying to improve themselves. Then the Cards are sitting here quietly, not doing much of anything and it is discouraging.

I think that's a one major disadvantage of having a new coach, that they want to get a better assessment of the current players they have and that is why they should have some earlier mini-camp, since not all players strenghts/weaknesses are not necessarily captured on video.......

The typical process is for a coach and his staff to evaluate if their current players suit their system, if not..then they'll target players whether it be via FA or draft to fill their needs...... You don't want to sign a player at a position in which it turns out you already have someone who under-achieved because the last coaching staff limited him from his full potential....
