Reportedly Philly is considering a buyout, we already picked up Jalen Rose who is a friend of Webber and formed the fab 4 with him at Michigan.

I guess Webber would want to sign a 1 year minimum deal with a contender and we would be the logical choice unless some contender promises him a starting job.

He would fit in pretty well in this system like he did in his Sacramento years. Huge playmaking boost for our bench.

The man cannot run - I seriously doubt this will happen. I also can't imagine Jalen Rose would give a ringing endorsement, considering his utter lack of playing time.

Rose has a chance at a championship and the lockeroom sounds like a pretty entertaining and welcoming one so i don't see why he wouldn't give a ringing endorsement.

I always thought Webber runs pretty well for a big man... definately not worse than KT and we want another big man.

The Suns do like to cherry pick and catch the other team sleeping on the defensive end. Webber can't make it back to the other end of the floor anyway.

That's all I got.

While Webber has great passing skills and a good outcourt shot and reasonable under-the-rim athleticism, we have a much better version of what he can offer in Diaw - who can also keep pace with the team. I guess I'd take Webber on the cheap as long as he didn't expect to be more than the 8th or 9th man. He could come in handy as McDyess does in DET....

McDyess is more like their 6th man though. He would be lucky to get off of the bench before Barbosa/KT. 8th man would be more than gracious.

That's what I'm saying. If he comes here knowing that he will be the 8th or 9th man, I'd take him on the cheap. If he works out and breaks higher into the rotation, that's a bonus. I'm speaking about his expectations. Besides, is he really any slower than KT is? Could he fill KT's role for the 2nd unit?

He might be worth taking for some extra fouls and timeouts. You can never have enough of those.

His jumper isn't automatic anymore. I would much rather have KT in there. As far as the playoffs.... I am not sure if he would help us there either.

Webber has no legs left to run with, he is not going to be a Sun.

Subbing Webber for Thomas doesn't kill you on the offensive end, but it sure is rough on the defense. Thomas is the best post defender the Suns have had in years. Thomas looks to have adjusted to the pace of the Suns and is playing really well this year. This year he's shooting really well and finishing around the basket. I think I pass unless the Suns have a big man go down to injury.

I would sign him just to keep him away from another team...

isn't Webber's defense supposed to be horrendous? we don't need another 1D player.

IMO, the question is, would the Suns be better off with Chris Webber than say a another minimum type player on their roster... say a Sean Marks or Pat Burke for example?

I think think the Suns would be better off with Webber, however, they would have to figure a way to move another minimum player to stay under the LT (as I understand it).

Just another thought about Chris Webber. Perhaps Houston would be a logical place for him to end up if his contract is bought out (considering the Yao injury) or maybe even Miami???

Got to like the moves Philly is making. Season was shot anyway. Cut all the losses, let the kids run and play, and hope the ping-pong balls deliver Greg Oden.

Worse ways to run a franchise I suppose. *cough* Knicks *cough*
