The more I think about this, the more I hate it.

Ryan Anderson is on the books for longer than Knight.

What is the plan here? I'm missing something surely...

I don't get this don't get this at all. Ryan Anderson is nothing special and has 2 years at 20 million a year left on his contract.

Milton is a second round draft pick.

I mean there has to be something else planned right? Your already horribly thin at PG and you just traded your best PG.

I mean honestly there better be something else cause this makes no sense.

The shock will go away right? I don't mind what's outgoing but the incoming makes no sense even if it's equal value. Which it isn't.

I don’t get this at all. On face value, it’s an awful trade.

GM needs to go.

Literally worst trade ive ever seen. Ryan anderson is horrendous defensively, 30 years old, and will make over $20m each of the next two years! What an absolute joke.

Ryan andersons place in the league is a buyout and veterans minimum on the edge of a bench.

For the record I never bought into the Knight hype train by the local media.

That's not the point yeah he sucks but he's off the books in 2 years, Anderson is off the books in two years aswell but he's gonna make 10 million more than Knight and Anderson isn't anything to write home about either.

I just don't get this at all

What an awful trade. McDonough can’t get out of his own way.

Basically, we’re gonna have two 2nd round rookies running point this season

What? I mean, what...?

For what it's worth, on the ESPN Trade Machine, it says Houston doesn't have a win total change with this trade, but we have a +1 with it. Doesn't seem as even to me.

neither did I. I was pretty silent on people buying into it because I've pee'd in enough people's cheerios here for years, but expecting a bad player coming off a bad injury to be a big part of this year's team never seemed realistic to me.

That said... we added salary for the next two years for Ryan Anderson? We already had our hot garbage salary in Knight... why did we feel the need to make it scalding for the next two years?

I don't think Knight was ever really in the plan for this team. But I have no idea why you'd trade him for a contract that's actually WORSE than his own.

Essentially they traded 7 mil for Melton. I like him but I doubt he makes an impact for 2-3 years.

Bordow is speculating that there is another move. There has to be.

Knight and Anderson have 2 years remaining on their contracts--but Anderson's is 5m more per year, and he's 5 years older.

I can't figure it out, but they must like Melton, who went pick 46 in the draft. But they have Okobo already.

Shaq Harrison
Isaiah Canaan
Elie Okobo
De'Anthony Melton

What are the Suns DOING?

Anderson CERTAINLY isn't in our future plans either, so that argument, while true, doesn't hold a lot of water with this trade. At least Knight was at least potentially fulfilling a need this season.

I don't think he was potentially fulfilling anything but a negative impact on the team. he's a three time cancer on three teams, coming off an ACL. why people expected him to all of sudden change attitude AND game made little sense to me.

all that said, trade still doesn't make sense from a salary standpoint.

Are Chriss and Knight that big of losses? Based on what we've seen, no, they're not.

However, are Anderson and Melton that big of acquisitions? A part of me thinks that Anderson hurts more than he helps. We don't need a 30-year-old fringe player making 20m per year.

Sorry. I have defended McD but I don’t know what to say. It must be Knight wanting out, Chriss too.

I guess I had more faith in Igor and thought Knight at least deserved a chance. Losing him isn't that big of a deal, though. I'm more confused by the return.

this i agree with.

although I would have liked to given Chriss one more year, writing was on the wall there in the summer league.

so you trade them to detriment of the salary cap? doesn't make sense.
