In the past Green took on guys nobody wanted: Randall Cunningham, Cris Carter, Randy Moss, Jeff George, John Randall, Dimitrius Underwood, Matt Birk, etc. Also, I wouldn't be suprised if Coach Green signs Jeff George as a number 3 QB.

And I'd say it would be worth it at that time. And yes....if Jeff George is our "vet QB", I could live with that two!

It seems as though Green is grabbinbg some of Graves' power right now but unless the Bidwill's have some sudden reversal of attitude about character players, than Clarett will not be approved by the check signers. They and Graves made a big issue about character and I believe alot of that to be driven by Mr B.

That is one of the keys when we discuss who Green will draft/bring in. First, until told otherwise, Graves does still have final say...although as I previously mentioned, it appears by the Blake thing that Green is making an early power move. Second, I simply don't believe the Bidwills will approve of them drafting Clarett. He has too many issue around him for their comfort IMO. They may let some small things slide but not as much as Clarett has going on.

The character thing is played out. Im sure that the bidwills if given the opportunity would pass on farve because he was a boozer. This team needs players not "good guys". Hopefully Greene can relay this message to the front office.

Last Year we had 4 (maybe 5, Andersons blood is not back yet) drug and or drinking related incidents. We probably had the most players suspened last year for violating the drug policy. We dont have a squeaky clean image so why keep trying to bring in character guys? Bring in the Romo's and Poole's of the world. They can spit at the opposing team collectively. I want some players on this team. I am so sick of missing out on guys because they have been in trouble in the past. Get Sapp and TO, I want the cardinals to be the bad boys of the NFL. Let the trash talking begin!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh DG grabbing power come on. Why hire DG in the first place. He has made it clear he wants power. He has it. Graves and Bidwill are complete and utter morons if they hired DG and then expected him to not draft players and cut players etc. Graves blew it last year DG said so he said Graves should have taken Suggs - why would Graves hire a guy who we all know takes chances on character issues, is a great GM and needs to have power. If you bring in DG you know all this. Either Graves is the dumbest man in America or the smartest. Graves after the last draft probably realized he sucks as a GM and hired a guy who will pick the right players and make the right player moves. And thus Graves will survive and flourish. DG won't fire the guy who brought him in - no way.

Look at Jeff Diamond he did nothing in Minnesota but cause of DG he has had a long career in the NFL - Graves wants the same. He will let DG do what he wants and he will take the credit. That is smart.

Do you really want Graves making the moves? I don't think even Graves does.

I think w've proven the high-character,mediocre talent way gets you a top 10 pick every year. There's nothing wrong with bringing character guys in,look at NE, but you also have to have some talent.Just like you can't have all world talent and be a bunch of idiots. You have to get the right mix.We seem to have enough charcter, let's get the talent.

When Green was hired, Michael Bidwill came out and emphatically said Graves still had the decision making power on personnel and Green was just the coach but Green would have input. I predicted, knowing what I know about Green, that within a year he would start to grab some of the power away from Graves...especially if he had success.

The release of Blake leads me to believe that Green has already started to grab some of that power since Blake was a Graves signing...BUT...that doesn't mean Green has full decision-making power on personnel yet.

I am not making an argument that Graves should have the power or he is better than Green when it comes to personnel. My comments are more towards the fact that until we hear otherwise, Graves is still the decision maker on personnel. Green has proven to be better but Graves has the owners siding with him...even if it is just for another FA/draft season.

Green can take all the chances he wants on character issues up to now but at this point he has to get things past the Bidwills and within the context of this thread, Maurice Clarett has more baggage attached to him than I believe the Bidwills will look past. The Cards will not be drafting Clarett IMO...and it may not matter if Green really wants the kid at this point.
