Clarett is the type of play Mr. B loves to cut from his team. (See David Boston).

The biggest issue with signing him to the Practice Squad is the word "Practice", Clarett doesn't do it according to reports. He came into the combine overweight, he came into camp overweight, he nursed an injury for weeks- he only has himself to blame if he is CFL bound.

David Boston wasn't cut. He finished his contract here, and was even offered a new deal, IIRC...

Yeah, and Woody wasn't totally senile when he ran out on the field and leveled that kid?

Not really homerism since Clarett was USA Today National HIgh School Player of the Year,NCAA Freshman of the year,Big 10 freshman of the year, Ohio State's MVP,and was drafted in the 3rd round after not playing for 2 years. That's(being drated) is all based on talent and potential.Shipp was an undrafted rookie from division 2 UMASS. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who has more natural talent. Ron Dayne hasn't done squat in the NFL either but that doesn't mean he's not more talented than Shipp. Who has more natural talent Wendell Bryant or Ross Kolodzei(sp.)? If you read the whole comment, which may be hard being from Wisconsin, i said Shipp is better than Clarett.Just Clarett has the talent to be better.

Wasn't Ryan Leaf talented also?

Actually it was on the sidelines when the Clemson kid came over to taunt after picking off a pass from Art Schlichter. Schlichter probably took Clemson plus the points.

Yep, another example of a world of talent with 10 cent brain. Good call.

Most haven't seen him as much as we have cbus and they especially didn't watch him during the Ohio State championship run when he carried the team.

Jeff Gollin has some good ?'s like:

1. Attitude/Chemistry - Does he have a problem here? From everything we read and hear, it sure sounds like it, but we really don't know - other than what the media tells us. Are those nagging injuries totally legit? Or does Clarett allow minor nicks to put him in the whirlpool rather than on the field? Are we dealing with an ingrained set of character flaws or just immaturity that he could grow out of?

2. Physical Ability - Has he been running like the Clarett of old? Could he ever get back to that point? Is he still out of shape? Has he "lost it" forever? Don't the nagging injuries suggest we're dealing with a "porcelain" player?"

If he could prove to our coaches that (a) he's really a good person and (b) had a better than even chance of returning to freshman year form, I think he'd be worth a shot on our PS.

But I'd think the odds of that happening would be 5% out of 100.

Mo remains a frikkin crybaby and that bothers me.

If he would get his head out of his arse and blame himself for his problems he might develop the attitude necessary to be a pro.

I don't see that happening right now.

Very true, but no one's talking about drafting Clarett #2 overall and giving him $15 million guaranteed, either. We're talking about paying him $100,000 or so to either be a goal line back or learn for a year on the practice squad.

Marcel Shipp's greatest value to the team may be instilling the values in young players like Arrington and maybe Clarrett that has made him so hard to cut the last three seasons.

I'd be in favor of picking up Clarett. After JJ and Shipp we don't have anyone left on our roster to be excited about. I don't see what we have to lose by bringing him in.

I tried to refrain from insults but apparently your not capible of a rational discussion when it come to sniffing the jock of a guy who probable can't make an CFL team much less a NFL team.

Oh and by the way I am not from Wisconsin...I am from Phoenix, you know where our team playes. I only moved here a short while ago. Wrong again as usual for a "person from OHIO." See how dumb that sounds????

I say bring him in, character issues seem to dissapear under the DG era. See Dansby and Dockett. Clarett would be a PS player, he is what the PS is for to develop players.

Well you better re-watch it.Charlie Bauman(the Clemson LB) got up and put the ball in the faces of the OSU players ON THE SIDELINE when Hayes swung at him.I'm not defending Hayes, i didn't even like him, but i do know what happened.

Most people from Ohio are wrong. I'm just not one of them. ;)

All I got to say is, Bring him in. I think he is an idiot but idiots cant do much damage on a PS especially ones with upside, plus I am of the theory that you need at least one RB on the PS anyways, so why the heck not Mo.
