Like they say - It's easier to accept and fix mistakes after a win than when you're being defensive about explaining a loss. I noted a few things below the radar:

1. With about 5:33 left to play (with Seattle down to one time out), Kurt is rolling to his left on third down. As he's about to get nailed from behind, he somehow manages to throw the ball away. He would have been wiser to eat the ball. We'd have to punt anyway. The incompletion stopped the clock instead of draining another 30 seconds or forcing Seattle to use its final time out.

2. Beanie should know from our friends in the NHL that "second guy in is the one who gets flagged."

3. What was with the Carlson TD? Whose man was it anyway - A-Dub's or the CB?

4. There was a brief series (with about 3:26 left to play) where - due to penalties and funky play calling - we were able to use up something like 0:23 worth of clock. What's with that?

Small, insignificant things (because we won), but I'm still quaking over the realization that, if Adrian doesn't intercept the shovel pass, it's even or better that Seattle scores a TD, with 1:35 left with the possibility of kicking an on-sider and then getting lucky (the way the refs were calling the game, it's not inconceivable one of our DB's would have been flagged for interference).

My point- Little things count.

A word about the refs - It would not have surprised me to hear my doorbell ring and, when I answered the door, have Walt Coleman throw a yellow flag in my face for something like improperly wiping off the breakfast table. (Who in their right mind throws a flag on the defensive team when the QB on the other team is taking a knee)?

AW blew coverage on Carlson. He went to help the LCB and left him wide open. It looked like a good pump fake from Hasselbeck

1) I'd rather he threw an incompletion than fumble, which he has a penchant for doing when sacked.

2) No one watches the NHL

3) 99% sure it was Wilson's. Blown assignment. He's looking bad in coverage.

4) Seattle used 2 timeouts. We tried to get a first down but Fitz was well covered and we did not complete the pass on the 10-yard in-route.

I'm with you though, yeah if we could just run the damn ball in the 4th quarter to ice the game that would've been nice.

There is one rule that bugs me and that is the PI that was called against McFadden near the end of the game. The one deep pass near the sideline, McFadden turns to the ball, yet is "impeding" the WR from catching it.

To me it looks like McFadden was playing the ball. As I understand it, he has as much right to the ball as the WR at that point.

As far as the impeding thing, is the DB supposed to step out of the way or something? I mean I've seen where the DB is covering a WR, but the route he takes runs him into the WR, yet a flag is called on the DB. Why don't we just let the DB's sit back until the pass is caught and then let them go after the WR.

I wonder if at this point in his career A-Dub is just better off being used as a Linebacker instead.

It seems like that is what he would rather do as well.

– It didn’t look good for safety Adrian Wilson when Seahawks tight end John Carlson was wide open on his 31-yard touchdown catch, but Whisenhunt absolved Wilson. The Cards were in a cover-3 defense and Wilson was supposed to cover the receiver in the flat (which is where Wilson was headed). Cornerback Bryant McFadden was supposed to take the receiver down the field, except McFadden also headed to the flat.

You can't cut off the WR's route and thats what McFadden did. The NFL starting enforcing that a couple of years back. I dont have a problem with the call, but the ball was thrown so far inside of where the WR' was running (about 15 yds) that there was no chance in hell Housh couldn't even catch it.

That's what I kept yelling how can you call PI when the ball was un-catchable.

Has anyone seen the officials waive off a Pass Interference penalty because the pass was uncatchable anytime recently?
