New Jersey Nets: The Nets declined the $5 million club option on forward Clifford Robinson for the 2005-2006 season, team president Rod Thorn announced.
Robinson was acquired by the Nets from Golden State on Feb. 14 for a pair of second-round picks. After trading three frontcourt players for superstar Vince Carter in mid-December, the Nets added Robinson, a strong post defender to upgrade the depleted frontcourt.
However in 29 games with the Nets, Robinson averaged just 6.0 points and 3.3 rebounds.
In his 16-year NBA career, Robinson has played in 1,250 games and averaged 15.1 points and 4.7 rebounds.
