Ideal 40 man moves:
Sign a reliever, sign Grichuck, sign Roki Sasaki.
Trade Montgomery/Kelly and an OF for a closer.
Go with a 6 man rotation initially while Roki gets up to American speed.

That leaves a spot open from Spring training, hopefully for Lawlar
I think the Burns trade puts pressure on Gallen to sign a fair deal, if not he is the one I am trading and keeping Kelly on a team friendly deal.
If the Dbacks have to pay a portion of Monty's trash salary then they need to get something in return like a DH or BP arm

New #Dbacks RHP Corbin Burnes is listed as No. 39 on the club's official roster.No. 39 was last worn all the way back in 2012(!) by RHP Bryan Shaw, and most prominently by the likes of Chad Moeller, Mike Fetters, Dana Eveland, and Max Scherzer.

The addition of Corbin Burnes has vaulted the Diamondbacks into the top 10 of ESPN’s pitching rotation rankings for the 2025 season.
Interesting on that list, they have Pfaadt as our #4 over E-Rod, Montgomery, and Nelson.
110 is elite level pitcher and they have Pfaadt at 108 this year.
This is why he is not going to the bullpen.

Maybe we are keeping Zach too
It's wild we are suddenly a destination for Boras clients. I was concerned after the Montgomery disaster where Boras was fired but right now he seems to like our GM.

Maybe Boras learned a lesson as well. Blake Snell held out and had a subpar season (another Boras Client) and signed early this year. A starting pitcher holding out and missing spring training is going to bite the player on the butt more often than not.
