The question of trading 2s for 3s is interesting. One traditional argument---not sure the #s still support it---is that you have a higher % with 2s. I just do not believe that
Clips can shoot 3s that well for a series. But the other factor is (and I'm sure someone has a stat), I think historically 2s generate more fouls, and as good as the Suns are at shooting fouls, they will win the FT exchanges. Clips a little higher %, but not nearly as many attempts. In the Denver series the Suns hugely outshot the Nuggies from the line.
Moreover, like the drives, when you can constantly get in closer for shots, it forces the D back so that (in theory at least) the 3s are less well defended.
