Lets win a chip now and worry about Payne later. Don't want any rain on this parade.

Do they have a bi-annual exception or did they use that last year? Wonder if Craig can be signed via bi-annual exception and leave the mid-level one for other players (Payne replacement).

can we use the Mid-Level in back to back years? That's what we gave Jae last off-season, right?

The bi-annual exception, as its name suggests, is only available to teams once every two years. Of the NBA's 30 clubs, only four – the Mavericks, Grizzlies, Pistons, and Raptors – used it in 2019/20, so they won't have access to it in 2020/21. The league's other 26 teams could theoretically use it this season.

I am really going to miss having him on the team

If Cam Payne gets a huge offer the Suns won't be able to keep him.

I will say, I don't believe Cam Payne is an NBA starting point guard so other teams may view him the same way and the Suns might be able to keep him.

The Suns do have some options like the Mid-Level Exception available which is around $10 million a season.

If Chris Paul opts out, the Suns could spread his salary over years that may provide some money as well.

Also the Suns could attach their 2021 first round pick on draft day and trade Dario Saric to a team that could absorb his salary perhaps like OKC.

Just announced on the radio. Said the Suns let the media know they will do an update at 5 pm.
My guess is out for game 2 and probable for game 3. Hopefully, they'll also say he's at least had the first negative test.

This is my understanding.

The Suns didn't use their bi-annual exception last season which is close to $4 million so this is available.

I think the Mid-Level Exception is again available to the Suns which can be close to $10 million.

They used the MLE last season to sign Jae Crowder.

oh, so they have both? that's great. that said, we're still gonna be shelling out a TON of dough between extensions and CP3. I'd love to see us use both the exceptions this year, but won't kill Sarver if he doesn't... especially if they win the title this year. Won't celebrate not using it either, but I understand the money crunch we're looking at.

TBF I don't think the extensions would kick in until after their 4th season (Mikal and Ayton).

I understand the Suns have both exceptions available.

This past season I kept wanting them to use the bi-annual exception to add another big man but they didn't. They would have had to waive a player to do it.

Chris Paul is listed as OUT per health and safety protocols.

Some idiot hyped up the 5:30 "announcement" when it was simply their daily injury report.

I had to “like” this post in order to unlike it! Not the poster mind you but the content. I agree with your “idiot” assessment.

It was the daily injury report. Someone in the media said it would be released at 5 p.m.

Now what adjustments will Monty make?

I don't think there will be many, but one of them will be to play Moore for a few minutes, if he still doesn't have it, then Jevon will get some burn. This is what Monty does, gives his guys another shot and then makes the move in-game.

I think they have to play Carter some. And maybe even spot minutes to Galloway to see if he can flame a couple-few threes. Wouldn’t be surprised to see frank make an appearance.

So Chris Paul and Kawhi Leonard appear to be day-today. Maybe we see them both in Los Angeles.

How about Kaminsky as our secret weapon against Cousins? I think Kaminsky has more heft than Saric and could better stay in front of him and stop him from backing down as much.
