"Colvin chose the Patriots despite the fact that both the Lions and Cardinals offered him significantly more money overall."

if colvin isn't motivated by money and just wanted to play for a winner, then we had no chance at all from the beginning.

No one who wants to win more than they want money is going to come here and sit through the Josh McCown and Bryan Gilmore experiment.

Which is exactly why Emmitt may come here.

Maybe the best hope for Cardinals fans is for this whole season to completely tank. No signing of any WRs (even our own), no other FA signings, go with McCown.

If we can completely hit bottom, maybe then Bidwill will step aside or the NFL will step in. 0-16 may not be the worst thing to happen to this team. I believe it would certainly be better than 5-11.

I don't understand where this "Maybe the NFL will step in" talk comes from. Most of the owners I understand like Bidwill personally. If they haven't stepped in by now, I don't see any hope.

Emmit will be a Card mark that down, right or wrong we have too much money and need to get rid of some.

I will look hard at how much they give him more than 2 or 2.5 per year is just burning dollars for burning dollars sake.

Heck he should sign for the minimum he just wants to stat pad no matter what he says anyway.

There would be positives to having him but if they pay too much it just will expose how truly desperate they are.

I am betting on a high base salary low bonus deal that eats cap space.

One of the 3 greatest RBs in NFL history in our uniform and, along with Shipp and the OL, helping us compensate for what will be the worst passing attack in the NFL by far.

Yet people around here continue to believe that the only thing that matters is moey and clearly that is not true...otherwise Colvin would be wearing red.

Yeah, I love all the "Bidwill is cheap" comments.

This team can spend money, but they can't shake their perception as losers.

I cant say it will be the worst especially if we can get a decent QB in here. But if we dont you could cerainly be right!

But just because Emmitt is one of the best RBs of all time does not mean that is a posotive for this team. All it means is that its a BS excuse to try and sell some tickets. Not to mention he used to be one of the best RBs of all time as of right now he is merely an average RB!

We have lots of young talented RBs who would be held back by Emmitt being here. namely one Marcell Shipp who has deserved and earned every right to be the starting RB of this team! Do you not agree?

Sad but true. Nobody can suggest Bidwill didn't try here. Maybe he is being penalized for fielding a losing team but money didn't seem to be much of an issue. Maybe Rosie didn't feel good after talking with the coaches regarding their defensive philosophy and how they would use him. Also, according to SI, he didn't want to play on the West Coast.

Then why the hell did he even bother making the fricken trip? Just a big waste of everyones time! It couldnt be to drive up the price if he still took "signifigantly less money" especially since Detroit isnt in the west??

I think maybe his family nixed the west coast thing...just a complete guess on my part. I still happen to think Belichek really sold him on how he would be used and most every player knows what a good/great defensive coach Belichek is. While I have no idea, I think maybe the Cards coaches didn't sell him anough on how he would be used.

I'll suggest it. We don't know. Maybe the Pats offered more up front money, or some fancy tricks that Bidwill doesn't do. I'll bet it wasn't that big of a difference dollar wise, and the only way anyone wants to play here is if there is a big difference.

We'll see how it breaks down, but the fact that he got a seven year deal, worth 30mil, makes me think a lot of that is guaranteed to spread out the cap hit. If you look at the last few big free agent contracts we've done, it's been a nice bonus with a big salary straight across the board. Overall, he might have made more here, but I wouldn't be surprised if he got just as much, or even more, up front form the Pats.

I'm taking a human resource management class.

One section we have been studying is Maslow's hierarchy of needs, as well as Herzbergs motivational/hygiene factors.

On it..motivation factors....or job happiness is governed more by who you work for, do you like what you do, do you like your coworkers, achievement, recognition, reponsibility, and personally rewarding factors.....Above money....And Hygiene factor which are potential sources of work dissatisfaction.

On that note...since we
have a losing aura
everyone wants to get out of here
the coaching staff?????as people have said might be on the way out
haven't been able to achieve anything
so there is no responsibility...in terms of success
very few rewarding factors
If all we can offer is more money....

No wonder why we aren't getting anyone...and on that note, these decision by free agents are holding true to form as described by these guys. Sorry to bum you out, but I thought I should bring this to light, as no one has covered it from this angle yet
