Is anyone from ASFN covering this mini-camp, Skkorp, Nidan?

The reports from ASFN are so much better than the ones on the official site or azcentral.

I think ASFN will be there with daily reports but last year we has someone from azcardinal.com post the daily reports on his site.

Important camp as it will impact the draft especailly to see how McCown looks.
I agree. If McCown does not look good, they may draft a Eli or Ben. :) :raccoon:

Green to Open First Mini Camp this Weekend

Arizona Head Coach Dennis Green will put his first Cardinals team on the field this weekend for the first of two voluntary mini-camps from Friday-Sunday, March 26-28 at the team’s south Tempe training facility.

“I want to establish what it takes to win,” offered Green of his main objective this weekend. “The minds of the players have to be real clear on what that takes and we’ll talk a lot about it. We’ve got a lot of coaches on our staff who have won a lot of games and we want the players to understand how you have to work and how you have to consume information to win. I’ve been pleased with the way the winter has gone. There have been a lot of guys around here and I think there has been a lot of electricity in the air. Guys have been working and I think they’ve been enjoying working. I think this is the best part, now you actually get to have a football involved.”

The three-day mini-camp includes returning veteran players and new faces such as defensive end Bertrand Berry, cornerback David Macklin, quarterback Shaun King, fullback Obafemi Ayanbadejo, and return specialist/wide receiver Karl Williams.

Whether a returning player or a new arrival, things are likely to be different under the new coaching regime.

“I think we’ve got our way of doing things and it is totally different (than before), said Green. “My background and Dave’s (McGinnis) background are totally different. I come out of the Bill Walsh school and guys like Mike Shanahan and Mike Holmgren ran their practices a certain way and that is the way we’ve run ours also. I think it is going to be different for the players but they’ll adapt.”

Adaptability is one of the key ingredients Green and his staff will be evaluating players on this first weekend.

“How we do things this weekend won’t be any different than how we do things September 9,” explained Green. “If you can’t do them right today then there isn’t much reason to think you are going to do it right on September 9. We are going to expect guys to work smart, to really work hard, to be able to focus and be able to adapt.”

Although Green mainly wants to establish his practice tempo, his staff will also lay out the basic foundation for the new offense, defense and special teams.

“We’ve always said what we do is player friendly,” he commented. “We tell our players, ‘Whatever we give you, do a good job of it and then let us regulate how much you get, but just master what you get and don’t worry about the other stuff.’”

Green expects there to be six or seven injured players who will not be able to practice this weekend. He specifically named LJ Shelton, Duane Starks, and Kyle Vanden Bosch as players who should be ready by June.

I don't think this camp will do much to help Denny and his staff evaluate individual players (except maybe their attitudes). It seems more targeted to (a) orienting the players to Denny's way of doing things and (b) laying out some groundwork for future work. You're not going to see scrimmaging, hitting etc. And it will be tough to evaluate how sharp or unsharp McCown will be when live bullets are being used.

I am inclined to go along with your theory. And it is why I think drafting Eli Manning is a good idea--not because I think McCown will not be productive in Green's system, but it would be good for the Cards if Green can develop a future franchise Qb.

He had a right knee scope and a right ankle scope. I also heard that he has tonsilitis.
