Basically said he was at a loss as to why teams (Giants, Eagles, etc...) haven't pulled the trigger on a Q trade. Because no way are any of those teams going to find the likes of Q in the draft. Mentioned teams with multiple high round picks as being less that smart for not putting a package together that would get them Q.

He was pretty damn passionate about this.

I agree with him. In other words, I hope Q stays put.

1. It costs more than players and picks - the team would also probably have to ante up at least $32-mil (mostly guaranteed) for a four year deal. At this stage of the draft, fewer teams have that kind of cap room.

2. It takes two to tango. In terms of the picks that would be part of the deal, the Cards may value Q more than what other teams are willing to give up.

2a. I believe the key to the Cards' willingness to part with Q in a trade has to do with their ability to get a higher 1st round pick in order to grab one of the two top RB's. With the exception of the Jags (who pick #8 but could also pick Crabtree or use the pick for another top 10 player) or the Jets (who pick 17th but may also be waiting in the weeds to grab Sanchez or Freeman), no other interested team has a high enough pick to do the Cards much good.

Evidently, the test in the open market suggests that the Cardinals value Boldin more than other NFL teams do. If I'm Q, I'd be flattered, and I'd be happy to remain where I'm loved the most.

25 out of 32 teams still have over 10 mill in cap space. There is more cap dollars left the day before the 2009 draft then any other year since the Cap era started.

I think the Cardinals and other teams are both waiting until draft day to see who is available at their pick. I think teams in the 2nd half of the first round have a short list of players that they don't think will slide but have an outside chance to, and would adjust their asking price for Q accordingly. If for example, Wells and Moreno are still there at 26, I think we might decide we want more for Q because we believe we have a better chance of getting one of them without trading up. If Sanchez was there at 17 I think the Jets would say sorry no Q trade, but if he and Freeman are both gone, all the sudden trading for Q looks much more enticing.

I don't like him. You can lsiten to his first ten minutes and he's talking about the same thing is his last 10 minutes. He tries to make a statement,or point of view, early then spends the rest of the show trying to hammer it home that he was right. A caller can never disagree, or take another point of view, and be right. I like Dan Patrick and Chris Myers a ton better.
