Saw this on Sunday, totally loved it. Very intense, realistic movie I thought. Felt a little like the action in "Heat" to me.

Jamie Foxx was just awesome, and Cruise was more interesting in this than a lot of his other recent films.

The final hour is very tense...it might seem long, but I enjoyed it being long.

My rating:

8.5 out of 10.

I must agree completely, this is the best movie I've seen this summer. Great intensity between Fox and Cruise throughout the film. They REALLY worked well together. Fox was amazing in his role.

A MUST SEE!

Yep.

And Manhunter, Thief, Miami Vice, etc.

He also did Ali, although I never saw that one. Hey guys. This is a great board.

I saw Collateral last weekend. I loved it. I thought it was incredibly well acted, and the cinematography was great too. Hell, I enjoyed just watching the cab drive around the city. :)

I saw this movie last night. IMO this is one of my top 5 Movies of 2004. The acting is great, the chemistry between Tom Cruise and Jamie Fox couldn't have been better, and the plot is badass. Tom Cruise really put on a great show. I enjoyed this film more so then I did The Last Samurai.

EDITED BY MIKE

**************SPOILERS IN THIS POST*******************

I loved it also. But, of course, Cruise's death scene was...well, so tranquil. Anyone else would've had a more violent death.

Sorry guys...we all need to be making sure to include SPOILERS in any post that gives away parts of a movie.

I saw it today and I enjoyed it too, but that ending was rather weak. Not sure how else it could have been done, but I left feeling like something else was missing.

Overall it was very good. Cruise did a great job as a man with and without a conscience that had the ability to turn it on and off. Jamie Foxx was excellent as well. I am excited to see the story of Ray Charles. I'll guess right now that Foxx will get an Oscar nod for that role.

SPOILER-QUESTION

Is that the first time a Cruise character has died in a film?

***SPOILERS****

Not to say you're wrong Bob, but I think some might think the ending was weak because it wasn't like your normal, Hollywood ending where the bad guy has to go out in the most elaborate way possible.

I thought it a perfect ending to this movie.

I thought I had mentioned but I got a contract to build a website for an actor in collateral. His role on the cast credits was "The white guy" :D

That could be it. I think I have been overwhelmed with disappointing endings with the last few movies I have watched. Taking Lives, The Human Stain and Godsend are the most recent that come to mind.

I just thought a little more character development for Pinkett-Smith's character would have been better. I'd have liked to have seen Foxx's character reach his goal too. Maybe that is supposed to be assumed.

Just watched this one last week. I am really, really digging Michael Mann's style having recently watched "The Insider" and "Heat" as well. I think "Miami Vice" will actually be good too.

Jamie Foxx is amazing in this film and it's probably the best Tom Cruise movie in the past 10 years.
