Following the first wave of NFL free agency, where we saw the Indianapolis Colts make some big splashes with the additions of Charvarius Ward and Cam Bynum, which players now have the largest cap hits on the team for the 2025 season?
At the moment, Over the Cap is projecting that the Colts have $20.94 million in available salary cap space. Compared to the rest of the NFL, this ranks 21st.
Given the current construction of the roster, with the Colts having 21 roster spots still open--most of which will be filled through the draft and UDFA signings--there is still some room in that regard for the team to make another veteran addition or two.
However, the important thing to keep in mind is that the $20.94 million figure is not all spendable in free agency. There are other cap expenses coming down the road, such as signing the incoming draft class, assembling the practice, and having in-season reserves available, among other items.
So, any additions that still might be made prior to the draft certainly aren't going to break the salary cap bank.
With Bynum and Ward's contracts, we saw the Colts take a different approach when it came to the structure of these deals, with the contracts backloaded, which helped lower the cap hit in the current season, so you won't see any player listed below. However, you will find Daniel Jones, who is getting paid a fairly hefty amount for on a one-year deal.
