Colts fired president Bill Polian, GM Chris Polian, and their entire front office.

Jim Caldwell and his coaching staff will also be fired once owner Jim Irsay decides on new management. The Polians had lived off Peyton Manning for several years in Indianapolis, failing to upgrade a collapsing, aging offensive line and providing Manning with zero running game threat. The wheels fell off quickly when Manning got injured because the Colts had no way to generate ball movement on offense and their defense has always stunk. The Polians also completely whiffed on at least two of their last three first-round picks (Anthony Gonzalez, Jerry Hughes) entering 2011, and the other (Donald Brown) is a backup-caliber running back. It's time to start over.

agree

That is what happens when you play 1 player that much! you Must downgrade every other position! for years.

Polian would upgrade Graves by a mountain.

Bring Polian in NOW! BYE GRAVES!

It's time for Polian to retire. I don't want him for my team. Look at Indianapolis's drafts the last 5-6 years. Terrible.

Bring polian in asap, the draft record is not the gm that's on the scouts...the gm only goes by the information the scouts gives him he's not the one out there scouting. GM is responible for contracts, FA and staffing.

Why does this board always give Graves the business then on bad draft picks if this is the case?

Why would Polian be an upgrade? We have no Peyton Manning here.
Are you serious? Is Polian an upgrade over Rod Graves? That may be THE most..... hell I don't even know what to call it. Polian has been a 5 time NFL Executive of the year. Graves hasn't had 5 winning seasons. That'd be like asking is Albert Pujols an upgrade over Brandon Allen?

Agree to a point. But lets not kid ourselves. He has had the luxury of having the best QB in the last 2 decades(save Tom Brady) playing for him. Not hard to do when you got a Peyton manning under center.

Polians, coaches, gone.

Mannings next!!! Nobodys paying him $25mil/year & not knowing his future in the NFL even exists

Nfl network just saying Polian not coaches as of yet

From what I heard on Sirius, it's a clean sweep

I have a strong supiscion, his son was more of the bad apple in those drafts, living off Daddys name & Mannings injury just drain any hope of winning throughout the lockerrom!

Considering the Colts are full of late round and undrafted outcasts, I'm not sure he is even on Graves' level?

What about the Bills team he built?

I have to admit, I never thought I'd be comparing the merits of Rod Graves to Bill Polian and people trying to support Graves, even the least bit. They don't make a Kool-aid strong enough.

Right?
The Colts' inability to draft and groom early talent over the last number of years is plain to see.
Even if you don't like Graves recent history, the Cardinal front office has done better than the Colts.

I agree about him & his clubs, but it also could be his time has passed. I would still consider Polian (w/o his son) an upgrade over the human snail anyday & at any age!!!

It depends on the team.
Some GMs also handle drafting and hiring scouts.

All the signs of a team looking to build around a new QBOF. I strongly suspect this will be Mannings last season in Indy, if that. There is a lot of older players on that roster too, that roster needs to be rebuilt. The Colts are going to be the doormats of the AFCS for the next couple of seasons.

They also lost to some GREAT teams. Anyone who has put together the Bills, Panthers & Colts successful runs at a title for basically 30 years is pretty damn good, despite only 1 ring!!!

Well he may be an upgrade over Graves but what has he done lately. The Manning injury exposed a poorly run team and he is responsible. If Graves is gonna go(which wouldn't bother me in the least) get someone with some recent success not hinging on one player.

Since 2004 the Cardinal's front office, up to and including scouting and FA signees (which INDY doesn't really do, ever) has done a better job.
They've been more active in resigning their core, but that's about it.
