Time to let Fitz go to a winning franchise. Two 2nds, or a 2, 3, & 4 would work for me.

Why is it time ?

Also, don't the Patriots need a wide receiver ?

Not a crazy idea, but I am not sure why this would improve the team ?

If people are angry about the lack of fans at UoP stadium then what do people think will happen if we trade Fitzgerald, take a huge cap hit, that between Levi and Fitzgerald will be over 10 million next year for those two alone, not have a playoff team, and now that Fitzgerald would be gone in this scenario, no offfensive threat on the field.

Not to mention the face of the franchise, the merchandising, the respect in the league for a team dealing a player like that......how is that all going to be countered? How is the organization going to deal with the blow back ?

And for what ? 20 million in cap money ?

Great, so now we have cap money. For who, for what ? What is the plan ? Sign more Kevin Kolb's, Adam Snyder's and Stewart Bradley's ?

What are the Cardinals going to do at the receiver position ? It wasn't THAT long ago we were starting Bryan Gilmore, and Larry Foster. Are we ready to go back to those days ?

Again, I have no problem with the proposition of trading, or getting rid of Fitzgerald, but at least HALF of those questions above have to be answered before I consider it any more than knee jerk reactions to a bad game.

Again, it is completely impossible to trade him right now. After the season we can for a big cap hit, but there is no way we can do it now. The cap number is too big, so please stop with your trade fitz threads.

And how exactly does Indy fit Fitz into their cap? Or are they planning to just let Andrew Luck walk when his contract is up?

He would actaully fit under theirs pretty well. He base salary is only 5 million this year and since the season is almost half over, they only have to cover about 2.7 million of that and they are 2.8 million under the cap. For us, we take a hit of about $20 million when we trade him since all his guaranteed money accalerates. We can spread that our over two seasons, but since we are bout $2 million under the cap, that becomes completly impossible.

OK.

NOW THAT I would be all for.

The funny part is that if we tried to tade him right now, taking on a player would actaully make it worse since we would take on their base salary. So even if Indy went all crazy and wanted to make that trade, we couldn't.

Stop. Just stop with all of the "Trade Fitz" threads. It's gone from a ridiculous proposition to straight up delusional

Not happening for a variety of reasons but it should. We're not going to win this year or next anyways and past that Fitz won't be the same player he was. Dockett may as well be on that list too.

They already got their 1 Super Bowl. Ask Irsay. No need to worry about the rest of the team.

Most fans are already locked into this season and your first round QB spurs ticket sales next season. Sucks to say but I'd rather lose big now if it means winning big later than treading water for the next decade.

I don't think anyone here would disagree with you there.

My question has been, and still remains: By trading Fitzgerald how are we going to win big by trading Fitzgerald ?

Just a question. If Fitz was the one who wants to be traded, can he actually make the contract sweeter for Cards and other team? I'm not saying Fitz willingly void his contract from next year (not sure if that is even possible). From all the media talks, it seems Fitz is just not utilized correctly and BA constantly saying WR fault for CP's INT, does he really want to be here, especially now?

Very interesting conspiracy theory!
