The 2025 NFL draft is 31 days away, and while most of the league is talking about what the Tennesse Titans will do with the top overall pick, the Washington Commanders are far more focused on what they need to do to get to the next level. Their offseason activity has already improved their roster on paper, and the draft will fill in the final missing pieces. To that end, NFL draft analyst Chad Reuter released a four-round mock draft with the Commanders selecting an edge rusher, a cornerback, and a linebacker.
Reuter predicts that the Commanders will select Iowa State cornerback Darien Porter with the 61st overall pick, and in the fourth round (128th pick) they'll grab Ohio State linebacker Cody Simon.
The Commanders definitely need to make some adjustments on the defensive side of the ball, specifically on the edge, which is why Reuter has the Commanders selecting a pass rusher. However, other mock drafts have the Commanders selecting a wide receiver or a tight end with the 29th pick. It's difficult to determine what the Commanders will do with this pick because they can plan for the future and don't necessarily need their draft picks to make an immediate impact.
In this writer's opinion, an edge rusher is the most likely pick at this spot. It's the most glaring hole they have on the roster, and since they haven't brought in a veteran who can do the job, they will have to draft that piece of the puzzle.

Pick 29 - Washington CommandersMike Green - Marshall · Edge · Junior (RS)Head coach Dan Quinn takes a shot on Green's speed late in the first round. He'd be a designated pass rusher as a rookie but could round out his game to become a starter pretty swiftly.
