“If they double team anyone, we have the guys on the field that can beat one-on-one coverage,” Floyd said, via the team’s website. “We are not a stingy group of guys. We don’t really care who gets the praise and glory. At the end of the day it’s about the winning. Whoever can beat that one-on-one coverage, it’ll help us out a lot.”

Love the attitude!

I told everyone in this forum

If you said nasty things about Michael Floyd when we drafted him where we did you'd live to regret it. He is going to be one of the greats in the league because he is a great kid with a huge heart and a tremendous work ethic. I'm so happy Larry was here to show him how it is done but you can't coach the physical ability Michael has.

No one would have guessed this though:

i was a fence-sitter on the pick, but I jumped off it last season. Kid raised his game to a very respectable level last year and I expect him to explode this season.

I will reserve judgment... One decent season a career doth not make.

And the Bears got Jeffery 30 picks later than Floyd was reached for.

Well Floyd wasn't thought of as a stretch the field type. He was thought of as a big receiver.

Yet there he is in the top 10 with yards per target

I'm encouraged. For Palmer to say Floyd "jumped out" at him says alot, because Palmer has been around and seen many different players. Pads or not is irrelevant because Palmer knows what he's looking at and how it will translate to the field. The fact that Floyd beat PP on a fly pattern, of all things, is also encouraging. This is what you want out of your 1st round picks, solid improvement year to year and this is yet another year someone is saying he's taken his game to another level.

Didn't Michael Floyd have a string of something like 23 consecutive catches for first downs?

something like that. He was our best WR last year. Maybe because Fitz was always the D's focus. Maybe because Palmer is more comfortable throwing to him. And maybe because he's really that good. Fitz had more drops last year than I remember ever seeing from him in his career. Maybe he and Palmer just didn't have enough time together, but he looked off

Huh? I believe LF had the lowest drop rate in the NFL last year: something like 1 drop in 85 catchable balls.

From PFF:
Fitz for the Win

There’s been a lot of talk about Larry Fitzgerald not being the player he once was. And in a lot of respects that is accurate as his numbers have gone down and his impact plays far fewer. But in one area that is unfair is the quality of his hands which continue to be the envy of many in the league. This year he dropped just one of 83 catchable balls which gave him a drop rate of 1.2 to top all receivers. Of course this isn’t a new thing for the Cardinal who has dropped just 19 passes in the previous five years.
