And it was late today. The Cardinals were awarded the 256th pick, the last pick in the NFL draft. I view it as the Cardinals getting the first choice of free agents which isn't bad.

Thank Ted Ginn for being the reason we didn't receive more picks. At least we got production out of Ted Larsen.

Next year doesn't look great either as we have added Iupati, Weatherspoon, Peters, and Redding. As of now, we have only lost Williams and Cro. If those guys are big contributors that is ok, but if not, a real waste.

Currently for next year our Comp Pick status is:

Qualifying Players Signed - 4 - Weatherspoon, Redding, Peters, Iupati
Qualifying Players Lost - 3 - Cromartie, Fanaika, Dan Williams

Players signed that do not count towards the calculations - Lamar Woodley was cut, and Shipley was an RFA that was not tendered.

Currently no comp picks for next year

Sam Acho, Rob Housler, Marcus Benard, Tommy Kelly - Those are the only other guys we should hope sign somewhere before the comp pick formula deadline. If at least one of them sign we will get at minimum another 7th rounder next year. More picks, if more then 1 of them sign elsewhere. That is assuming we don't sign any more qualifying players before the dead line that is.

and if other teams don't lose higher valued players. Only 32 comp picks available I believe. Nice call on Fanaika.

When is the qualifying deadline?

Usually falls in July somewhere.

It is why you wont see a lot of the 1 year deals done by teams until after this date, so it doesn't hurt their comp pick status.

We should draft the best punter with the comp pick. Our punting was horrible last year.

What was his injury? Is it positive he is coming back?

Hamstring which made it concerning he went on IR for that. So is there more to the story? He is on the current roster and has been great the prior two years.

Not questioning you at all Chopper---but why would Ginn be a reason for not receiving more picks-------just trying to learn why.

Hey-----every year undrafted players make it in the league--and some go on to be quite successful.

Yes and look at the last pick of the draft as a chance to draft the #1 undrafted free agent!
