I am in need of some one to look at my computer.. I use picaso for pics and it won't let me import pics saying I don't have enough space. Its on my e drive, which is an external 3tb and I have approx 299 tb available.

Also have some problems on the c drive so would like a tech to check it out.

Any recommendations for someone who makes house calls, that's honest and reliable..

Maybe call Data Doctors?

I've never used them but I think they do this kind of work.

Well, there's your problem right there.

But, a few home remedies to try. Install Winstatdir to see what is eating the space. enable the option to see unknown space (generally shadow copies).

You could start with is using CCleaner (standard) to clean most of the rubbish off and see if any space is freed up.

Shadow copies can eat up a lot of space and you could delete them if you choose. Option 1 should be fine - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/166102-shadow-copies-delete.html

Do you have any backups stored on the external drive?

did you mean 299 terabytes or gigabytes? i find that 299 terabytes would be overboard for a desktop pc.

GB, I ran Winstatdir and one of the big eaters of space is the file "Backup Set 2015-06-28
94.9% usage 446.3GB.

Can I delete this??

If you have several more image backups that are more recent then I see no issue with deleting that image backup. Keep in mind, there are basically two types of backups with Windows 7: Image backup which is an exact copy of the drive, it's essentially a snapshot of your operating system including your system settings, programs, and files. The second type of backup just backs up the files on your computer.

I would just make sure you have at least one image backup and delete the rest, and just keep regular backups of your files (consumes less hard drive space).

Also, because you're using Windows 7 you can clear more space by running disk cleanup. Microsoft never rolled out with a service pack 2 for Windows 7 so all of the patches and hotfixes created a mess of unneeded files that are consuming hard drive space. Just right click on the start button and click search and then type "disk cleanup". More information at this link below:

I was able to move the back up file to my external drive... Everything seems to be working.
