Congrats to the ASU basketball team in beating the UofA in today's Pac-10 tournament game. To me ASU was better prepared, especially in the 2nd half. Chase was doing his best Steve Kerr impersonation(1988 Final Four game). I wonder if his stock will go down further based on this game?

Unless a miracle happens and the Cats get invited, which I highly doubt, the streak is over. It's been fun while it lasted.

Good luck to the ASU basketball team tomorrow.

thanks man. I was really surprised by Chase also. Hill was a beast regardless of over the back or anything. On his ankle, his stock has gone way up in my eyes. Pretty sloppy game overall.

I'd say Chase was doing his best Mustafa Shakur imitation.

Let's hope this ends the soft, overhyped headcase era of UA Hoops.

Sigh - I am ready for a new coach. I am tired of these castoff coaches the last 2 years making Sendek look like John Wooden.

If the Cats couldn't come out amped for this game against their rivals with everything on the line then I don't know what to say.

Congrats Devils. This is new territory for me but when does college football season start?

Chase pulled more of a Jason Garnder with out all the shots. Unreal that a guy who scored 28 a game last week can get shut down by a zone.

Chase still cant finish at the rim unless he is going for a dunk and he was clearly not shooting the ball well and it cost us big time.

Do you UA fans/folks in the know think Budinger might stay next year? If I was UAs new coach, job #1 would be to make sure Chase stayed. Otherwise all you have next year is Wise, and that would mean a 7th place or worse finish in the Pac 10 likely. Chase certainly hasn't lived up to the hype, but he's probably better than whoever will replace him in the short term. Budinger has been a projected 1st round pick since his freshman year, and probably hurt his stock a bit this year. If I were him Id consider coming back, being the focal point of the offense next year, and improving my stock a bit. However Im sure its tough to have 4 coaches in 4 years, maybe he's sick of all the drama and just wants to bolt.

Thanks guys, I fully expect U of A to be back, but hopefully we can keep Herb around and make it an actual rivalry.

I wouldnt consider myself to be in the know... but everything Ive heard is that he wont be coming back to UofA for his senior season. In hindsight, he shouldve left after his freshman season when his stock was highest... who couldve forseen that 3 seasons and 3 coaches later his worth couldve dropped this much? I hope he stays for one more season, because I dont think he is ready for the next level... but Im fairly certain he will be gone, along with Jordan Hill and possibly Nic Wise.

Next season will be ROUGH

And congrats to ASU... the better team won again. There's no shame in losing to ASU this season. Harden is a monster. Hope the Devils represent to state and the Pac10 well in the tourney.

100% not coming back, don't want him back. We'd be 7th or worse in the Pac-10 with or without him, might as well start the rebuilding process with guys who will actually compete.

True Garnder is a warrior and always was. He had a terrible game against UCLA at Staples and Chase brought back those memories, even though we had everything to lose today while Garder's UA team did not.

Chase is gone, Hill is gone, and im just hoping we get the coach I think we will get or Wise could be gone as well.

I prefer a complete roster overhaul. Whoever the new guy wants can stay the rest can leave. Outside of Wise and maybe Fogg and Horne there's almost no Pac-10 talent on the roster.

i think Nic Wise is a stud too. But he kind of got Amare stoudemire disease today with yelling "and one!" after every shot. lol. If Wise stays I could see him carrying UofA next year.

If the Suns somehow draft Buddinger, I think I may literally puke. He is certainly a great athlete, but is maddening to watch as an opposing teams fan.

Hill has improved a ton this year, and he has the potential to be a good NBA player. Last year, Pendergraph had his way with Hill, but this year Hill is clearly better.

Nice of Herb to politic for the Cats:

"Admittedly biased, but I think our league is as deep and as talented and as balanced as any in the country," Sendek said after the 23rd-ranked Sun Devils beat Arizona 68-56 in the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 tournament. "Do I believe Arizona is one of the top 65 teams in the country? I would say yes. As competitors, we have great respect for them."

I will miss Jordan Hill. He has so much upside to his game. He has only been playing basketball since high school. I don't think Chase coming back benefits the UofA because it's going to be a rebuilding year and he will be a senior.

My list on who I want to be the next coach.
Pitino
Dixon
Izzo
Callipari
Few
Wright

Two wild cards, Grant from VCU and Anderson from Missouri.

I'd take Budginer with an early 2nd round pick. Problem is some idiot GM will take him before then, and the Suns don't have such a pick currently (though with a lot of offseason trades probably happening, that could change). Anyone who gives Chase a guaranteed contract is going to regret it.

Of the three, Jordan Hill is going to have the best NBA career. He is going to be a stud at the next level.

Nic Wise will probably be a second rounder to someone

Chase will be a role player at best. Early 2nd rounder IMO

For the LIFE of me I simply can not figure out how UofA was not better this year....

How many College teams with two LEGIT first-round players and another very good college player (wise) not even make it to the tourney???

And for the record IF UofA gets in over a St. Mary's or Davidson is will be a travesty.. even Wildcat fans should agree....

Coaching. You saw today how Sendek outcoached Pennell. The same thing happened last Thursday against Cal.

Um, when your head coach spent the last three years being a radio analyst and an AAU coach?

When St. Mary's beats somebody with a pulse then talk to me.

wins against San Diego State, Providence, Utah St., Fresno St., not great teams... but definently competitive....

St Mary's deserves a bid, so does Davidson, IMO, and ar you honestly going to say the UofA DESERVES a bid??
