wins against San Diego State, Providence, Utah St., Fresno St., not great teams... but definently competitive....

St Mary's deserves a bid, so does Davidson, IMO, and ar you honestly going to say the UofA DESERVES a bid??
Sure, "the UofA deserves a bid." To the NIT. :bang:

UA beat SDSU handily. Beat Gonzaga too which smoked SMU three times. Arizona would have a similar or better record playing in the WCC. Also beat Big 12 champ Kansas, UCLA, USC, and Pac-10 champ UW. Not too difficult to see who has more quality wins and less bad losses.

Fresno State? Do you even watch college basketball?

Does Arizona deserve a bid? Of course not.

Would they deserve one over St. Mary's or Davidson? Absolutely.

Davidson's not even going to be close.

Again - do you even watch college basketball?

Its not if Arizona deserves a bid, because when you look at all the other teams on the bubble Arizona (right now) has a better resume. If those teams on the bubble advance today and especially tomorrow UA's chances are reduced astronomically with each bubble win.

Right now Arizona is in, but they cant play anymore games and its up to the other bubble teams to knock UA out by winning a game or two.

Again ASU fan fails to recognize what quality wins mean versus deserving a bid. Does UA deserve to be in? It all depends on if the other bubble teams deserve to be in more, not if Arizona does.

St. Mary's is no way deserves a bid more than UA. However teams like Va Tech, Kentucky, Penn St., Michigan, ect. can all win one more game and deserve to be in more even if Arizona has more quality wins. If those teams and plenty others dont win, Arizona's chances look better because they would deserve the bid over the bubble teams that have lost.

Like I said, it all depends, you cant just say UA deserves to be in without knowing if the other bubble teams won or lost this weekend.

I don't see how anyone can argue with Arizona belonging in the Tournament considering their "effort" against ASU yesterday. Of course that same argument holds true to St. Mary's and their performance against Gonzaga and New Mexico against Wyoming.

Maybe Arizona should schedule a game for Saturday against NAU to get themselves into the Tourney. St. Mary's scheduling that game in itself should get them banned form the Tournament.

I dont think Arizona belongs to be in the tournament. If Arizona makes it they will make it because the other bubble teams were unable to win that one game in the conference tournament they needed, just like UA failed to do.

If enough bubble teams lose Arizona has a good case to get in. If those bubble teams win, Arizona doesnt have much of a case.

I just cant believe that the Big-10 could possibly get 8 teams in this year. Arizona in or not, that is pretty unbelievable.

UNC just showed what good coaching can do for you right there. Roy let his team know they have 2 fouls to give and to play aggressive defense. It also helps when you can play friggin man to man defense instead of getting abused in zone rotations.

Exactly...it's just delaying the inevitable at this point.
In all honesty, considering this is a very strange situation where we cannot build off a Tournament appearance no matter what it might be better off for the future of the program to pocket the revenues from three home games in the NIT. Although admittedly I still do hope we make the Tournament just to keep it alive for one more year.

I think Arizona pockets something ridiculous like $500k per home game, that 3x buys out someone like Sean Miller or Bruce Pearl.

The ironic thing about ASU fan lobbying for Arizona to be excluded from the Tournament is that UofA this year has almost the same caliber of resume ASU did a year ago. And let us not forget the tantrums they threw around this time in 2008 when they were excluded.

Understandable, although Lisa Love was rooting for the Cats to get in because everyone in the Pac gets extra money if they do make the tourney.

Bruce Pearl may be a good coach, but his antics get tiresome. You think he'd show up for your women shirtless with body paint? :|

He's very second tier on the list, good coach but very sleazy. About eight or nine guys would have to say no before Pearl gets a call, same with Sean Miller. And I'm assuming both would jump at the opportunity with what they're making currently compared to what Arizona can offer.

I'm very much in favor of getting as many PAC teams in as possible precisely because of the money.

He just started to this last year Mao - Look at his screen name :)

lol.. hey now.. I'll have you know I "started" following College Basketball my Freshman year at ASU with Ike Diogu...:D

And I watch and follow College Basketball about as much as anyone, I simply put Fresno St in there, not saying they were good, but they "had a pulse" and that is something Mao challenged me to mention :p

And yeah... UofA has some quality wins, and if you took 5 people who knew nothing about sports and had them look at quality wins, then UofA would most certainly get in... but takign everything into consideration, including how you all ended the season, and the all famous "eye test", I don' think THIS YEAR UofA passes it... just my opinion....
