I know I should be saying things like "at least we made you work for it", and "well, the Rams showed more life than they have in recent years" and crap like that. But I'm afraid I can't stomach it.

The best I can manage is a congratulations, and I hope everybody's healthy.

What you just saw sir, are two teams going in opposite directions.

I am not looking forward to the game at UoP against your Rams and Mr. Bradford.

I'm completely drained, myself and I think you have a winner with your number one pick.

Thanks for the classy post. Bradford looks really good. We will hate him for many years to come, I'm sure.

Division looks wide open to me.

Yes, Bradford is the real deal.

The numbers don't show up on the stat line, but he plays with uncanny poise and confidence for someone who has never played in the NFL.

I'm not worried about him this season, but get some receivers and experience and you are set for the next 6 years. As a division rival, he does scare me.

I was actually shocked to see the stat line. I felt like he was doing better than that through most of the game. I was worried about the pick initially, but he's turned me into a believer.

I will say, I was glad to see the fumble call not wind up deciding the game. I can't believe they didn't overturn that.

Two out of the 3 picks were "now or never" picks. He only had 1 bad one, and Wilson is a Pro-Bowler for a reason.

Bradford was the best QB on that field today.

I have to say the Rams look improved! Meanwhile the Cardinals played like crap, not enough pressure on Bradford, OL not good, Derek Anderson - hoo boy!

And a word about that officals crew - terrible! At one point in the game it took them about a minute to figure out a false start call! :mulli:

To the boards Rams fans, good luck with your season; except your trip to Arizona...

There are going o be a ton of Bradford jerseys sold this week. I'm hoping the Rams can become, once again, an organization to be proud of because I hate what they've been the last few years. Bradford might just be the man to make that happen.

The Rams fans in the stands around me were all commenting on the officiating. How long they took to make calls. Other than THT last fumble which they thought was not a fumble most of the Rams fans did not complain about the calls either way though.

Bradford played very well for a game 1 rookie QB.

Cards were fortunate to get out of St. Louis with a win.

If I was on the NFL rules committee, I might have done away with the booth reviews in the final 2 minutes. I think it added a 1/2 hour to the game.

Terrible.

I called Bradford the best QB in the division before he ever took a snap in the NFL. He proved it today.

While I don't necessarily agree with Rugby Muffin on this topic----I will say that it appears that Bradford is truly your QBOF. Congratulations for that, AND for the total effort that your team put out this game. There was no quit in either team until the last second had expired. I believe that bodes well for both teams.

Spags has put some very nice pieces on the table for you to rebuild around. You appear to be well on your way, and I am happy for you. It will certainly force us to continue improvement in order to stay ahead of you in the division standings.

You are welcome to post here anytime, and I wish good health to all of you too.

One thing's for sure - the Rams didn't play like a bunch of star-struck rookies; let alone doormats. They may not yet have a enough playmakers on the roster, but they did play solid and by-&-large, mistake-free football. They just didn't have quite enough juice to beat a pretty frisky team who fumbled 7 times (& lost a majority of those fumbles).

It wasn't just Bradford (who certainly played better than "well enough not to lose" but whose surrounding cast could use an upgrade in overall talent). The presence of Clayton served as a reliable security-blanket and helped stabilize the Ram offense (Buried in the narrative was the fact that Clayton has a photographic memory and memorized the Ram offensive playbook in 2 days). Meanwhile, Long and Laurinaitis are blue-chippers on the other side of the ball.

If the current regime & new ownership continues on its current track, the Rams will be back - sooner than later.
