It just seems like there comes a time in a game where you say, screw it, and pass the ball. James and the O-line were not getting it done last night, and when that became painfully obvious, the coaching staff should have eschewed balance, and come out throwing on first and second down.

It seems like Green and company are trying to appease James by giving him carry after carry, so he can pad his stats. Well, it ain't working and with this offensive line, it won't work IMO. It also seems they are trying to cater to him by not making him pass protect. He jumps out into receiving position on virtually every pass play, instead of waiting to see if there is a blitzer. What's up with that?

I agree especially on that 3rd and 1 at the 22. If your going to kick the FG anyway, why not fake the hand off to Edge and take a chance at the endzone????

Heck, why not run a QB sneak, or a naked bootleg for the the first down! The guys 23 years old for christ sake. At some point you realize you CANNOT run the ball, and you wanna kill time, why did they handcuff leinart?!?!?!?!

This is exactly what I thought. You QB sneak to the right of the center. If he fails to pickup the first down, at least you centered the ball in the middle of the field for Rackers.

I literally could not sleep after this loss. I had to watch Saving Private Ryan in HD to calm me down enough for bed. Yep, a war movie before bed to calm me down.

:(

they definitely got a little conservative. In the first quarter Edge had some nice holes and made some nice runs. But that's when they were spreading them out with the pass before running.I can see their thinking in the 4th quarter. The Bears offense had done nothing and they had a double digit lead. The main thing you're doing there is trying to get time off the clock.

The thing is, is that they WERENT running anytime off of the clock. They would run on 1st down, and then pass on 2nd and 3rd down. Our drives would end up less than a minute long.

EVERYBODY in the stadium knew that James would be given the ball on 3rd and 1. I told my wife before the ball was snapped. Told her that we'd try to run it, everybody knew we'd try to run it, they'd cork the middle and we wouldn't get a first.

Also told her that ANY other play would have shocked the Bears and we'd get our first. But that Green and his coaching team didn't have that level of imagination.

I've never been so mad to be right.

there was just no imagination in the playcalling in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th qtrs. i guarantee we ran it 90% of the time on 1st down and it was ALWAYS up the middle into a 8 or 9 man box. green needs to take over the playcalling. rowen is obviously not getting it done.

My thought is we went to conservative in the second half. This is not hindsight but as I sat watching the game my thoughts were Leinhart can move this team so keep on doing it. I did not even like that last run with 3rd and 3 with time running out. Let Leinhart pass for three and we win the game by running the clock out at worst. We do not need Rackers to make a field goal

I dont know if the TV coverage showed this -- but pretty much every single 1st and 2nd down for the Cards in the late third and fourth quarter -- the Bears walked the safety up the the line of scrimmage --

Q regularly had single coverage with Nathan Vasher (who he owned last night) --

I understand wanting to run some time off the clock -- but the Bears basically dared the Cards to throw on first down, and Denny refused.

Yeah. Leinert should have checked off to a pass occasionally. I'm not letting him totally off the hook.
