Before Free Agency started I suggested the Cards consider Rasul Douglas. My reasoning is simple; he was the best ballhawk among the free agents. He’s still sitting out there and the Cards must be considering CB after inviting Samuel to town. Both those guys had a lousy 2024, but had enough previous success to warrant consideration. I think the current roster group is strong enough to get by with, but Douglas would add a level of aggressiveness not exhibited by the current group. Of course the cost is a concern. However the upcoming draft has a decent pool of CBs. Also Douglas has been on the market long enough to insure no one is likely to be making a windfall offer. Perhaps he might settle for a one year, prove it deal. He’d be playing behind a probable pass rush, so the Cards should be attractive. If it were up to me I’d save the cap space, but he would be an interesting addition.

I watch a lot of the Bills games and he fell off a cliff last year. I’d like to proceed with melton and Williams getting significant snaps and the other spot being an open competition. We have bigger holes elsewhere in my opinion.

I think they may wait on any possible starter signings now until after the draft.
