Here is something which might happen, Murray ends up getting selected outside of the first round after the hype train slows down and the reality of building a roster in the long run comes into play... great kid with the possibility to be huge but with a larger percentage to get a GM fired, because it's one thing for Keim to gamble with KK but another to play Russian roulette with Murray as his first pick overall

That exactly glowing report is more indicative of Texas Tech than the ability of Kingsberry. You also seem to forget the Texas Tech defense which is cool, because opposing offenses do too

He averaged like over 35 points a game for his tenure while being outgunned talent wise by other schools if you consider his entire offensive roster

People who attend Tech which I talk to, being a native Texan, still love the guy and wish he was still the coach and confirm it's just Tech changing the guard to guise the reality that they cannot get the right recruits to compete with the big boys

USC is a major college program with tradition and they do not agree with you about his ability

... and KK has sure gotten into McVay's own realm because he values what KK has to say

But wait, back to Cards 'first 2 picks'. So what do they do right out of the gate? Do they choose/hire a qb whisperer to groom our young pocket passer? No, after what we would presume was weeks of deliberation, they go with a coach that doesn't fit at all with a future with Rosen as our qb. But again wait, if they didn't sign someone who is a match with Rosen, then what were they thinking all along?

Only one thing left fellow fans, they had already made up their minds that Josh wasn't in their future plans. They made up their minds back then to change course at qb and start anew with the perfect fit of K & K. This was a done deal long before we all began debating it.

I'm sorry to all you Rosen supporters but this decision was decided a while ago. Nothing else makes any sense whatsoever. Or are the Cards that stupid and confused as to be going in 2 directions at once?

I think you are reading too much into this. Kliff has plenty of history with pocket passer QB's similar to Rosen that he recruited and gave a ton of playing time through the years. Davis Webb, Nic Shimonek, and Alan Bowman are 3 good examples of this. Rosen and Kliff can have plenty of success together.

I think they are hoping to trade down and will draft a defensive player, whether it's at #1 or #4 or somewhere else in the draft list. Now, in the unlikely event that they actually draft Murray...then I agree, it was a conspiracy/package deal at the time they hired Kingsbury. There is a lot of smoke in that relationship with them having the same agent (who was Kliff's roommate in college).

Which makes sense. His MLB agent is Scott Boras, a guy known for playing hardball in negotiations with MLB teams. It would not be a surprise at all if Kyler & Boras are looking to use the NFL to get more guaranteed money out of MLB.

Rosen is not a statue in the pocket like some here want to keep reinforcing (you would think he was as immobile as Neil Lomax) and Murray is a pocket passer who happens to have the ability to run... but the Cardinals had no intention early on to tie Murray to KK, or he would not have took his coaching interview to explain how he would use Rosen

One HUGH warning sign, in my opinion, is that Murray was stated to prefer playing baseball (MLB). Once he realized (or his agent informed him) that he could get a much larger contract by entering the NFL as a top ten pick, THEN he chose football. As my franchise QB, I don't want someone that is choosing football mainly because of a financial decision.

In this scenario, I could see Murray maximizing what he can out of his rookie NFL contract and only then transitioning over to MLB.

And for this reason alone, I would stay clear of Murray!

I would take Mayfield over Murray, btw, I think Mayfield is a better QB and brings it when on the biggest stage so far. Murray didn’t during the Alabama game and that is huge for me. I would take Mayfield or Mahomes over Rosen if we could trade, but wouldn’t likely take Murray.

Fortunately for the Cards staff, KK gets a pro day with Murray and an OTA with Rosen, all before the draft.

Imo you can throw that Alabama game tape out the window. Oklahoma has no defense, it's horrible. If both teams traded defenses in that game Oklahoma wins hands down.
