The time with the Alien still could have been milliseconds on Earth. So if she was with the Alien that looked like her Dad for 5 mins, it could still be considered 1 millisecond here on Earth. Time could be different in different worlds. Didn't you see Interstellar? :)

Yes, but the time shift would be in the other direction. When she was standing on the alien planet, you could see what could be construed as a black hole in the sky. This would mean she was pretty close to the event horizon, resulting in a few minutes for her equaling perhaps years for the people of earth (if one buys that science). Since we are nowhere close to a black hole, your argument is contrary to the "different times for different planets" idea, especially if it wasn't a black hole in the sky, just a wormhole opening. Anyway... if both planets were not close to a black hole, time would be similar. I am unaware of any physics that would change this.

Or.... more likely.... just a screw up in the movie.... :D

Yea, I got that backwards then. Your right. The time is short there and long here as it was in Interstellar.

That steamy on-screen romance between Foster and McConaughey was the only thing that got me through. :bigyawn:

I thought it was a great concept but it dragged on and on. This movie could have been so much better with some editing. I still love the space travel portions of the movie.
