A detective from the year 2077 finds herself trapped in present day Vancouver and searching for ruthless criminals from the future.

Season 1 is on Netflix and season two starts this Friday on SyFi. It is a Canadian based show and season two is almost done up there. I am four episodes into season one and I love it so far.

I tried a few episodes and found it underwhelming. The lead actress had about as much range as a piece of cardboard. Defiance isn't perfect, but it's a lot more fun.

That is kind of the point of her character. To more the show goes on and she adapts to present time, the more her personality changes. But I do get it, the show it not for everyone, afterall, it is a Canadian show. I guess Mulli is the target audience. :D

I just found this show and started catching up. I remembered some previews but I never watched it until now. I like the show so far.

If the point of a character is to make it so the lead actress looks like she can't act, the writers should be fired. She had the range of a clod of dirt, sorry.

And I've liked Canadian shows. I love Lost Girl, for instance.

I guess I don't see that either. I think it's also the progression of the character. She is going from someone totally reliant on cold technology to figuring out how to expand herself. I guess I kind of felt the same way about Anna Torev at the the start of Fringe but the character progressed.

Season one ended on a note making me wish for more. I'm just starting on Season 2 and so far love the show, but then again I'm up for anything time travel related.

As for her range, the character definitely gets more emotive as Season 1 progresses. There's a scene a couple episodes before the end where she has a very powerful performance, especially for a show on the SyFy network.

Season two is getting better and better as well.

I was 'meh' about this show but had nothing better to do. Ended up buying Season 2. It's fun. Not amazing, but fun.
