The Pittsburgh Steelers' seemingly harmless 'Happy Birthday' messages are done in good faith—unless you ask RB Cordarrelle Patterson.

The former All-Pro kick returner was wished a 'Happy Birthday' by the Steelers' social media page, but it wasn't enough for Patterson. He quickly took to social media to call out the Pittsburgh Steelers organization for it being an Instagram story, not a post, as other Black and Gold players had received before.

Patterson then followed it up, seemingly connecting it to a potential release, stating, "Y'all know something I don't know?"

Patterson played in 13 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers, accumulating 135 rushing yards on 32 attempts, as well as 80 receiving yards on 12 receptions.

There was hope that the now 34-year-old running back would bring an edge to the Pittsburgh Steelers' special teams, especially with the new kickoff rules in 2024.

However, it is difficult to justify his two-year, $6 million contract with the recent signing of former Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell and a potential RB addition in the 2025 NFL Draft.
