Wow, saying Marion possibly is at a point where he won't have a problem with a trade.

And throws out Odom, which I would love. The guy hasn't been able to get to that elite level (would have been an all-star last year if he didn't get hurt in january) but offensively he can be a nightmare matchup with us. At 6'10 Can post small guys and can take big guys outside.

And with Odom we can pull off a version of the dirk/terry pick and roll which killed san antonio. That pick and roll killed s.a. because of dirk's ability to go inside/out, something odom can do as well.

If this was Amare acting 1/10 as selfish as Marion does the posters here would be up in arms.

Even though Coro is speculating, I think he may end up being right. A lot of the players have the title in mind and are working hard to get to that point. Seeing Marion come in "on time" while they've been putting in the extra work probably wont sit well.

I wouldn't mind Oden that much if he wasn't always hurt.

Last week it was reported Marion would join the workouts this week. I guess he's really taking his time this year. On one hand, it's his right. On the other, it really looks bad if he's the only one to wait until the mandatory day. If he really doesn't want to be here, then why ask for an extension? If he is upset at the management for "disrespecting" him again, then why take it out on his teammates? He really needs to grow up. Fast.

Most of us are frothing at the mouth to get the best value for him, isn't that enough? I agree that Amare is a more volatile conversation topic, but right now he's seeing all the love for his diligent work (except maybe the 3 point threat) while Marion has all but burned his bridges with most fans.

My bridge is now officially a tinderbox. I grow weary of every Marion headline being a negative one. I know its still speculation. But if he's actually asking for 3 years and 60 mil? Go blow, dude. Kobe and KG you are not. I know hes just asking for what he's entitled to get by terms of the CBA, but he should know that in todays market, he has NOWHERE NEAR that much worth.

And to you all who think hes taking it out on his teammates? Life would be great if athletes were all buddies when they played on a team, but reality is they arent. He's looking out for his interests, and that makes sense. I dont hold a grudge against him for that, nor for any of this, Im just tired of the distraction.

20 mil? Seriously? Id laugh at him and say see ya.

No to Odom. He's very injury prone, and word is that his shoulder is still not healthy and it may not even be ready for the start of training camp. If we add a significant piece for Marion, it would be pretty important for him to be able to play in training camp.

Marion is everything the front office CLAIMED Joe Johnson was.

Ship his ass out. Good luck getting your 20 million a year.

NOW he's prepared to accept a trade? Where was this two months ago, when the Suns needed it?

What a fiasco this has turned out to be. They should have traded him one or two summers ago, when his value had peaked.

If by some miracle the Lakers said, "Sure. Brian Cook and Lamar Odom for Shawn Marion? Let's do it!" I'd be ecstatic. But they won't do that.

You guys reading way to much into that article! No where does it say he is willing to accept a trade or is bitter. That whole article is crap says nothing except Shawn isn't here early, so what alot of vets don't show up early. If he came early and got injured in hard practice then everyone would be pissed he was working out before he had too. People just need to let it go they are not trading Marion right now maybe after this season but not now. We may get one of his best years ever if he is trying to earn a new contract (either with us or someone else)! Whatever this is a silly thread for a article that really said nothing substantial.

Odom would be great... if he could ever stay healthy... which he can't. That's a big risk. Shawn Marion... 3 years, 60 million dollars? Come on man, stop sniffing glue.

He doesn't know what he wants, he just wants everyone talking about him. He wants the drama and attention.

Wow, is he going to be a distraction all year? If he is, then you can kiss the championship goodbye. For a locker room that is already somewhat divided, stories and speculation like this could be very damaging. I don't really want Marion gone. The only time I was really okay with it is when it was said KG might be coming.

I just hope that if he is going to be here, that he can bury any hard feelings he may be harboring, and worry about the extension next year. BTW, good luck getting 60 mill from the Suns over the next 3 years. That's ridiculous.

Better get a new coach for that starting five. If the shot goes up in 7 seconds or less, both hill and odom will be watching from mid-court. I like Hill for the half court game, but (2) half court only players seems like a huge change in the team. Team speed takes a huge hit with odom, the guy plods along after the knee injuries. I like AK better for the team speed, injuries are about equal, but AK is younger, perhaps he can heal better. The warriors would just run the suns out of the gym with Odom and Hill on the floor. Odom is better on offense than AK or Marion, but he tends to take the air out of the ball, and will take it out of Nashs hands. Odom is not a very good defender, not nearly as good as marion or AK.

Marion is not going to get that type of extension from the Suns. Actually the way the Suns have sold draft picks for cash and to move KT, they are probably hoping to move Marion in any way that is financially beneficial. I think getting a quality player in return is almost becoming a side issue. However, I can't help but think if Marion stays, his play will dramatically improve because he is playing for a new contract. This might be reason enough for the Suns to keep him if team chemistry is not harmed.

That's a big "if". I hope that you're right. A motivated Marion could be a really good thing. You just have to wonder about chemistry.

marion for odom and turiaf would be much better imo. I think turiaf would light the fire back up in diaw. all these leaked pseudo rumors is very immature though, from both marion and reporters. marion needs to grow balls and let his agent speak freely for him and rerporters need to stop accellerating the drama without any sort of comment from marion.

Always two sides of a coin. I'm just looking at what might happen with Marion if he is not traded. I'm thinking if Marion vents his anger on the court because he is not going to get a contract extension it may not produce all bad results. Actually I think if Marion played angry on the court his game still can improve. Marion has a lot to lose if he does not play well... but so do the Suns. I believe if the right deal comes along for the Suns, they will try to move him. Maybe this is why the Suns did not want to guarantee contracts going into camp.
