As for Odom, I find nothing that says he isn't recovering well from his shoulder surgery, which he played through the last month of the season.

Lamar Odom is behind schedule in recovering from shoulder surgery, will be limited in training camp and might not be ready for the Oct. 30 start of the regular season.

Odom postponed surgery last season to play the Lakers' final 23 games. Then he had the tear in his labrum in his left (shooting) shoulder repaired May 15.

The Lakers hoped he would be ready in time for the start of camp, but the rehabilitation has been a slow process. Odom also had surgery in 2004 for a separate labrum tear in that shoulder.

I don't know what is going on with Marion, but he is not going to get a big extension by whinning. He needs to come out and play smarter to prove he's really worth the money. Pouting will just cost him.

As long as the playoffs don't start in november and he is expected to make

It depends. People can argue that Tim Thomas fit in immediately with no training camp, but I'm not sure that would be the case with a guy like Odom. He wouldn't be coming into a team with an established rotation and team dynamic that he would be trying to find a role in. He would be coming in as an essential cog. I assume he would figure it out over the course of a season, but when you're trying to win a championship, adding a guy of his caliber without having training camp is a bit risky.

Odom has had major surgeries to both knees, he doesnt run well anymore. A young Odom, sure, but this is 2007, he an older, gimpier Odom. You wont find any recent film with him getting out on the break, he's one of the last ones down the floor. Add he cant guard the '3' or anyone with a dribble move on the perimeter(and dont give me marion as an example), and he only helps out on big slow guys when he's nearby.

I actually like AK coming on help against Duncan, he could get some nice blocks on Duncan from the weak side, make Timmy adjust. AK can defend Horry, Bowen, oberto or Bonner and help on TD.

i just heard coro on the radio with local LA sports talk. he said that everyone in both organizations is very tight lipped about this potential deal, but that no one was denying it either.

the LA guys were excited about the prospect of landing marion for odom+. they also commented on the fact that bucher came out again last week and reiterated that kobe said he'd never play in a lakers uni, for what it's worth. there's talk of him not reporting to camp...

Yeah I heard Coro in LA sports-talk as well.

LA fans are going crazy about Marion coming to town - while others claim Odom is a million times better.

They keep saying Kobe won't report to camp. Blah Blah.
